In themidst of an unusually warm winter in Kansas City, our Global Prayer Room isgoing strong with continual night and day worship and prayer before the Throne.It is a privilege to be a part of what God is orchestrating across theglobe. Recently, my wife and I becameinvolved with an organization called Safe Families, which focuses on providingloving homes for children who are separated from their parents for a period oftime for various reasons. This is one step closer to full adoption as God hasput this on our hearts (Jas. 1:27). Eileen’s short film “Restoration” was putup for online voting and evaluation last week. Please keep her in your prayersfor favor with the judges and for God to continue to impact hearts with themessage of the Father’s heart through her film. Christine is doing SamuelCompany, a prayer room intensive for children 8-12, training children to prayand hear God’s voice. We are excitedthat she is becoming an intelligent young lady with deep thoughts andquestions. I am pursuing her heart as a father in a focused way this season sothat she can know the heart of our Heavenly Father even better. Please praythat she will continue to grow in the knowledge of Christ. After four years ofanswering God’s clear call to be at IHOP and become support-raisingmissionaries, we still have the need to be fully funded every month. Choosingto live simply (Sermon on the Mount lifestyle) is helping us tremendously.Please pray that we will be fully funded every month so that we can fully giveourselves to God’s calling.

KoreanPassion for Jesus

The KoreanPassion for Jesus conference is this March 8-10. The Holy Spirit is moving asHe is converging prayer and missions across the global Body of Christ. A propheticword was given to Loren Cunningham, founder of YWAM, that the prayer andmissions movement was one movement in God’s heart. In light of this, theIHOP-KC Korean leadership has decided to make “prayer and missions” the themeof this year’s conference. Onething 2011 Update
Happy New Year!
We pray that you would experience a new year filled with the hope of Jesus Christ, His extravagant love, and His abundant provision. We have just finished collectively hosting and serving 30,000 who registered and at least 70,000 who webcasted live during the onething 2011 conference. Again, this was a free conference that we offer to everyone from around the world to encounter God and to gain the knowledge of Christ. We experienced a powerful time of worship and preaching. My wife and Christine helped minister to over 500 children at the Children’s Equipping Center. Eileen and I served in the healing rooms and at the main sessions. In the healing rooms, 1060 people received physical healing prayers, and God powerfully touched and healed people. Over 300 people turned in written testimonies of physical healings. We witnessed a young lady get up out of her wheel chair and started walking slowly for the first time in five years. I personally witnessed healings from scoliosis, blurred vision, arthritis, headaches, back and knee pains, etc. Praise God! The move of God was evident and strong throughout the conference. We believe this was the direct result of night and day prayer, asking God to do something that we ourselves cannot do. God is always faithful to do what He said and promised He will do!

Praying Church/House of Prayer
As we start the year 2012, we are so excited and humbled to see the reality of houses of prayer or praying churches everywhere in the world. The concept of houses of prayer and praying churches is no longer foreign to the majority of the Body of Christ. Just in California alone, there are now hundreds of houses of prayer and many of them are going night and day. Also, thousands of churches in California are being gripped with the urgency to place prayer at the core of all they do, thus making themselves praying churches. Around the world, there are well over 500,000 confirmed houses of prayer that have been established in just the past few years. These are really exciting times to be living in. We are seeing and will continue to see a mighty move of God unto a massive salvation of souls as prayer and missions continue to converge on a global scale.

We need to have a clear understanding of Jesus of the Bible so that we can fully agree with His plans and purposes and pray in partnership with His heart. (Luke 18:8) Blessings!

It’s awonderful privilege to know you and connect with you. We are so blessed for theopportunity to share our lives with you every month. By the time you receivethis letter, please know that you have been prayed for. We pray that this willbe the best Christmas ever for your family and loved ones. May the God of allcomfort and peace fill your hearts with the hope of Christmas.

Park familyis humbled and privileged to live out this calling and assignment. As we ponderthis past year, we cannot help but thank God for many blessings andopportunities. As missionaries, we fully depend on what God is saying to us andgiving us. We are so thankful that you also hear His voice and share a commonpursuit of knowing Jesus personally and making Him known passionately.

Eileen hasfinished her short film, “Restoration,” and she has been having screenings indifferent small groups. It took six weeks of editing and a total of threemonths to finish. We are proud of her that she wants to use this film to helprestore broken father-children relationships in order to establish the Malachi4:6 reality.

Christineis going through a season of spiritual reflection. She is seeking to know God for herself. Please pray that she will encounterJesus in a deeper and personal way.

My wife andI are privileged to faithfully give ourselves to full-time prayer missions. Iam also privileged to serve other local churches by invitation. I get to serveand strengthen them by simply serving their needs and guest speaking. There arelocal churches around the world that are dear to me, and as I continue tointercede for them, God is opening up more doors of opportunity to minister tothem and serve them. Your prayer and financial partnership is making this effort possible.

Park Family Update

Greetings!

As I write this letter, I am still in California, visiting and ministering to people and churches until Nov. 4. Then, I will be going back to Kansas City. Because of your prayers, I am connecting with people and families God has raised up in support of the prayer and missions movement. I am facing a minor but comprehensive denominational obstacle, but God is still faithful in carrying out His plans through me. My spirit is strong and I am doing very well. My family is currently home in Kansas City praying for me and the people I will meet. I love my family. Eileen has just finished filming the short movie called, “Restoration.” She is now in the reviewing and editing stage of the movie. Please pray that her movie will be used mightily to bring restorations to Korean and other families. As a bonus, she is also very hopeful that this movie will bring her a full scholarship at Regent University. I believe that she has done her very best and the rest is now up to her prayer partners’ prayers. Eileen’s name means, “torch.” My prayer is that she will truly be a light to her generation. Christine’s name means, “anointed.” My prayer is that she will have a strong anointing to heal and touch many lives and lead them to The Anointed One—our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My wife’s name Anna means, “Full of God’s grace. Ah… what a wonderful name, and she is that. She is an amazing woman of God. She has made me who I am today through her prayers and wisdom. My name David means, “beloved.” Yes, I am truly loved by so many people and the most thing is that I am truly loved by God (Jn. 3:16, 1 Jn. 4:10).

Pray for The Call 11.11.11

Please pray for “The Call” on November 11, 2001. Tens of Thousands will be gathered in Detroit, Michigan on that day and pray continuously for 24 hours with optional fasting in the spirit of 2 Chronicles 7:14. We will be praying for revival in America (and Korea), a transformation of inner cities like Detroit, and massive reconciliation between the Black and the White Americans. Oh, how I also wish to see a massive reconciliation of Korea and Japan through prayer so that we can all move strongly forward into the great harvest of souls unto the nation of Israel. Amen. Come Lord Jesus!

Greetings in the Name of Our Lord!

Since we have started the official 1st day of autumn a few days ago, we are beginning to see colorful autumn leaves in our neighborhood. Many people say that the weather here is exactly like Korea, with its four distinct seasons. They say that autumn is also a season of catching up with some reading that had been put off during the busy months. For us, this year, it is a season of seeking the Lord in a time of extended fasting. I will be going on the type that is a little bit more difficult. Please pray for grace (resolve) to continue in order to gain insight and understanding of what the Holy Spirit is saying to the churches. You are making it possible for us to do what we do through financial partnership and/or prayer partnership.

IHOP-KC just celebrated its 12-year anniversary of non-stop prayer meetings with worship and music. It started September 19, 1999 in Kansas City, and we have continued to keep the “fire on the altar” ever since, which is an expression out of Leviticus 6:12. It symbolizes our continual prayer and devotion just like the prayer movement of the Moravians in Germany in 1727, which went on for more than 100 years. This brought about a great revival and church renewal in all of Europe. In the same spirit, IHOP-KC is now touching the globe in over 180 nations through the webcast and what we collectively do as prayer missionaries. My family and I are so excited to be a part of this God-ordained prayer missions movement.

I will be in California from October 24 through November 5 on a partnership development trip. We will be having face-to-face meetings with people who will potentially partner with us through financial support and prayer or by being a host family when we make visits to their area. We believe that God has already raised up our would-be partners. Please pray that we would be connected with these families at the heart-level and that the message would be clear.

Greetings in the Name of Our Lord, Jesus Christ!
Our family returned from Houston, Texas, after joining 44,000 prayer warriors and millions more via live web-stream at The Response. The stadium was already filling in when we arrived two hours before it started. The entire event was focused solely on Jesus and Him alone. There were plenty of big names, but none of them were promoted. No products were sold. No sponsorships were mentioned. No one gave sermons: just brief exhortations to pray and pray we did. Going from 10AM to 5PM, we fasted and prayed for America. It followed God’s own remedy given to us through the book of Joel, where we are to gather, consecrate the assembly, declare a fast, and cry out to God. God pays close attention when his people obey His own word and will show His mercy. More than 300 secular media groups also gathered mainly to criticize and ridicule Christians. Many of them were touched by the prayers, and one reporter from a mainstream secular media group wanted to find out more about the prayer movement and decided to cover International House of Prayer in one of their articles. When Christians gather to pray and exalt Jesus with pure motive, even the secular media is touched by His presence.

“It’s Like a Modern-Day Monastery”
What does a 24-hour prayer community look like? It’s like a modern-day monastery, where Jesus is exalted through songs of worship and adoration, and incense of prayer goes up night and day. We are ordinary people who have been called by God to live a fasted, simple lifestyle in order to live in extravagant devotion to God. 24/7 worship and prayer is biblical and is going on in heaven right now even as you read this newsletter. King David saw a glimpse of this reality as he started a night and day worship movement and established 4,000 musicians and 288 singers (1 Chronicles 23-25), which went on for nearly 1,000 years, bringing reform and blessing to Israel. The monastic prayer movement in A.D. 400 converted hundreds into prayer movement and changed the spiritual landscape of the Middle East. In A.D. 522, the Aguanum 24/7 prayer movement continued for 378 years, and monasteries were planted all over France and Switzerland. In A.D. 558, Comgall 24/7 prayer and worship in Bangor, Ireland, continued for 266 years and preserved the gospel and the European society. In A.D. 910, Cluny established 24/7 prayer movement that lasted 300 years in France and reformed the church throughout Europe. In 1727, Zinzendorf established a 24/7 prayer movement in Germany that lasted 100 years and birthed the modern-day missions movement. In 1907, “Early Morning” prayer movement was birthed in Korea that still continues today in most Korean churches. In 1973, a prayer mountain was established in Korea that continues to be a catalyst for church growth and world missions. In 1999, 24/7 prayer and worship began in Kansas City. Now, it has a community of 4,000 people, with thousands of visitors. It reaches millions around the world with the prayer and missions movements as one. We pray that God would grip you with this vision for 24/7 prayer as you partner with the prayer movement that God is raising up unto the return of His Son.

Greetings from Kansas City! After an unusual month of daily 100-degree heat wave, we are looking forward to a snowy winter weather to come our way soon. I hope you enjoyed the issue of the Ministry Today magazine that we sent you last month in lieu of the newsletter. The major national ministry magazine devoted 15 articles of its issue to IHOP-KC. It captures some of our core values and what we stand for. If you would like more copies, please let us know so that we can send them to you.

Pray for Israel
The March 2008 report of the U.S. State Department indicates that anti-Semitism has increased globally. Simply put, the majority of the world hates Israel, God’s chosen people group. I encourage you to read Romans 9-11 this month with me, focusing on God’s heart for Israel through the words of the apostle Paul. It will tear your heart, concerning God’s chosen nation. How then, can we pray for Israel? First, pray for peace in Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6) and then, pray for the salvation of Israel (Romans 10:1). Bless Israel with your words. You will be blessed and experience the depth of God’s heart. It is our vision that God would raise up 100 million (10 million Koreans) gentile believers who will pray and intercede in a focused way with the heart of God for the nation of Israel so that Israel would cry out for her Messiah, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” (Matt. 23:39).

Pray for America
We want to invite you to pray with us as our family drives to Houston, Texas, for ‘The Response’ (www.theresponseusa.com), a national prayer gathering to pray for America. This is not an IHOP-KC event, but was called by Gov. Rick Perry of Texas. Many of us from IHOP-KC will be involved in it. It is very significant when a key government official calls the nation to pray, recognizing the current crisis that our nation is in. He is correct in implementing God’s remedy, as prescribed in the book of Joel, for national economic, political, environmental, and possible military calamity. We are to declare a holy fast, gather a sacred assembly, summon the leaders, and cry out to God (Joel 1:13, 14). Our nation’s future depends on it. Please pray.

Pray for Korea
Even as I write this letter, Korea is experiencing an unusual season of heavy non-stop rain that has lasted several weeks. On one occasion, it even rained 14 inches in 24 hours, causing hazardous mudslides that took many lives. Please pray that no further lives will be lost and that many hearts will turn to God in fasting and prayer as in the days of the 60s and 70s spiritual revival in Korea. The church in Korea has been shrinking in number in the past 15 years and is losing the young people, with explosive growth in materialism, broken families, all forms of darkness, and a tremendous lack of right knowledge and vision. The Bible warns us that people perish because of lack of knowledge. A lack of knowledge of who God is, the holiness of God, and what He is doing. Let us pray that Korea will acknowledge God and return to Him yet again and play a vital role in End-Time global prayer leadership.

[미션라이프] 수년 전 아이합(IHOP)이란 말을 처음 들었을 때에 나는 미국의 팬케이크 전문점인 아이합(IHOP)을 생각했다. 당시만 해도 대부분 일반인(크리스천들 포함)은 팬케이크 전문점인 아이합은 알았어도 미국 캔사스에 있는 또 다른 아이합, 즉 국제기도의집(IHOP·International House Of Prayer)에 대해서는 무지했다.

그러나 시간이 지날수록 크리스천 지인들 가운데 팬케이크 전문점이 아닌 IHOP에 대해서 말하는 사람들이 늘어났다. 매일 24시간, 주 7일, 일년 365일 기도와 예배를 드리는 그 곳을 찾기 위해 직접 비싼 비행기 값을 내고 캔사스를 다녀온 사람들도 많았다. 다윗이 밤낮으로 예배를 드린 ‘다윗의 장막’이란 말도 아주 보편화 되었다. 독실한 기독교수인 친구 한명은 자신 소유 조그만 야산에 콘테이너 집을 만들어 “따장(다윗의 장막)”으로 부르기도 했다. IHOP을 이끄는 마이클 비클 목사에 대해서도 이야기를 들었고 그가 쓴 책도 접했다.

나는 캔사스의 IHOP을 빈야드나 토론토 블레싱, 펜사콜라와 같은 은사주의자들의 모임으로 생각했다. 그리고 하나님의 음성을 직접 듣기 원하는, 예언과 치유를 받기 소망하는 사람들이 가는 곳으로 여겼다.

한국교회내에 ‘IHOP’을 찾는 사람들이 늘어나면서 논쟁거리도 생겼다. 소위 ‘IHOP논쟁’이 한국교회내에 일어났다. 하나님의 직통계시를 받아야 한다고 주장하는 것, 변승우 목사의 큰믿음교회와의 관련성 문제, 피터 와그너가 주창한 신사도운동을 적극 펼친다는 것 등이 IHOP과 관련한 의심의 눈초리였다. 인터넷에 ‘IHOP’을 치면 다양한 내용이 나온다. 이단이라는 주장도 자세한 내용과 함께 제기되어 있다.

이에 대해서 나는 뭐라고 이야기 할 수 없다. IHOP을 접촉해보지 않았고, 그들의 주장을 검토해보지도 않았기 때문이다. 그래서 IHOP에 대해서 나는 판단 정지 상태다. 그러나 내가 신뢰할 수 있는 지인들 가운데 IHOP이야기를 하는 사람들은 더 늘어나고 있었다.

그러던 차에 2개월전쯤 IHOP 대표인 마이클 비클 목사가 3월 경 한국에 온다면서 인터뷰를 직접 할 수 있는지 타진하는 연락이 왔다. 하기로 했고 날짜를 잡았다. IHOP 창시자와 직접 만나 자세한 이야기를 들어보고 싶었다.

마이클 비클(57) 목사는 7일부터 경기도 포천 광림세미나하우스에서 열리는 글로벌킹덤파트너십네트워크 참석차 한국을 방문했다. 그를 5일 서울 인터콘티넨탈 호텔에서 만나 깊이 대화했다. 그는 이번 국민일보와의 인터뷰가 자신의 한국 방문 과정에서 가장 중요한 순간이라고 말했다. 그러면서 물어보고 싶은 모든 것을 질문하라고 했다.

비클 목사는 정감있는 모습의 소유자였다. 인간적 매력이 느껴졌다. 2시간 동안의 대화를 통해 그와 IHOP에 대한 한국교회의 견해에 정확하지 못한 내용들이 적지 않다는 사실을 알게 됐다.(물론 순전히 그의 대답에 기초한 이야기지만. 이와 반하는 다른 이야기, 그가 내게 이야기 해주지 않은 다른 내용이 앞으로 들어올 수도 있을 것이지만.)

다음은 비클 목사와의 대화 내용이다.(녹음도 되어 있다). 한국교회가 이번 기회에 IHOP에 대한 올바른 이해를 할 수 있기를 바라는 마음에서 자세한 내용을 문답 형식으로 싣는다. 거듭, 이 전문은 IHOP에 대한 나의 주관을 배제한 한명 인터뷰어(이태형)의 질문과 인터뷰이(마이클 비클)의 대답이다. 2회에 걸쳐 대담을 소개한다.

-한국은 자주 방문했는가?
몇차례 왔다. 30년 전에 여의도순복음교회와 오산리기도원을 방문해 한국교회의 기도를 배웠다. 목사가 종을 땡하고 치면 전 성도들이 방언으로 기도드리는 것이 아주 인상 깊었다. 국민일보도 알고 있다. 신문을 처음 시작한다고 했을 때, 미국에서도 큰 뉴스였다. 누구도 할 수 없는 일이었다.

-당신은 국내에서 논란이 있는 목회자라는 사실을 아는가?
내게는 오늘 인터뷰가 이번 한국 방문에서 가장 중요한 것이다. 어떤 설교 보다도... 무엇이든 묻기 바란다. 아무리 이상한 내용이더라도 묻기 바란다.

-마이클 비클 목사는 누구인가. 자신에 대해서 소개해 달라.
나는 15세 때 구원을 경험했다. 당시 나는 장로교 교회의 청소년 그룹에 있었다. 이 그룹은 CCC와 깊이 연결되어 있었다. 당시 장로교회어의 목사님은 국제 CCC를 창시한 고 빌 브라이트 총재의 첫 번째 제자였다. 자연 우리 교회는 모든 것이 CCC로 도배됐다. 이후 나는 청소년 그룹을 돌보는 스태프로 섬기게 됐다. 돈을 지급 받는 스태프였다. 나의 첫 번째 영웅은 허드슨 테일러(중국내지선교를 시작한 선교사)였다. 17세 때 그분의 자서전 3권을 읽었다. 나는 그래서 목사보다 의료선교사가 되어 중국에 가야겠다고 생각했다. 의과대학에 합격했다. 의대는 들어가기 상당히 힘들다. 8000여명의 신청자 가운데 75명이 합격한 어려운 시험이었다. 그러나 등록 마지막 날에 ‘아니다’고 생각했다.

하나님은 내 인생에서 처음으로 내면의 음성으로 ‘아닌 것 같다’는 생각을 주셨다. 이후 루터교회에 갔다. 그 교회 목회자가 부흥회하는 동안에 나를 초청해서 성경공부 그룹을 이끌어주도록 요청했다. 그 때 그 교회내에 지나치게 은사적인 사람들이 많았다. 목사님은 내가 그런 사람들을 데리고 나가서 목회 하기를 원했다. 당시 나는 20살밖에 되지 않아 그 목사님의 심중을 정확히 파악하지는 못했었다. 이후 교인이 3000여명 되는 교회에서 청소년 목회자로 초빙했다. 그래서 나는 신학교에 갈 겨를도 없이 목회하게 됐다. 매주 토요일 마다 1000명 정도의 청소년들이 몰렸다. 이후 나는 하나님의 성회에서 안수를 받았다.

나는 그 때 이후 20여년간 하루 5,6시간씩 성경을 연구했다. 내가 마음에 먹은 의대를 포기하려 했을 때 하나님은 나로 하여금 언제나 학생의 자리에 머물게 했다. 성경공부할 당시 구약과 신약에 걸쳐 모든 주석을 구해서 한절 한절 연구했다. 성경 관련 책을 5000여권 샀다. 그것이 나의 신학교였다. 신학교에 간 친구들에게 나는 ‘너희들이 신학교에 돈을 냈다면 나는 내 신학 도서관을 만들기 위해서 돈을 냈다’고 농담하기도 했다. 이후 1980년에 미국 하나님의 성회에서 안수 받았다. 이것이 내가 사역을 시작한 스토리다. 너무 자세히 이야기한 것 같다.(웃음)

-국제기도의 집(IHOP)을 왜, 어떻게 만들었는가?
1982년 가을에 여의도순복음교회를 다녀온 이후 1983년 5월에 나는 캔사스에서 새로운 교회를 시작했다. 그 전에 나는 세인트루이스의 교회서 목회했지만 서울 방문 이후 사임했다. 27세에 캔사스에서 청년 목회를 시작했다. 교단을 초월했다. 하나님성회에 소속하지않고..서울의 기도모임과 같은 교회를 하겠다고 생각했다. 그래서 매일 저녁 7시부터 10시까지 기도모임을 가졌다. 16년 동안 이 사역을 계속했다.

교회 개척 이후 6개월이 지나자 청년들만 500명이 모였다. 그들에게 금식과 기도방법을 가르쳤다. 서울의 경험 그대로 새로운 메시지를 전했다. 83년5월 교회개척 이후 8개월 됐을때 500명정도가 21일 금식기도를 했다. 금식기간동안 하나님이 들리도록 말하셨다. “24시간 예배하는 다윗의 장막을 시작하라.” 이렇게 한 문장으로 그분은 말하셨다.

“다윗의 장막의 영을 가진 24시간 기도운동을 시작하라”는 것은 나에게 너무나 혼란스런 명령이었다. 6개월동안 매일 저녁 기도했지만 24시간이라? 도저히 이해가 안됐다. 당시는 다윗장막의 영이란 것을 알지도 못했다. 그런데 나중에 다윗의 장막은 예배와 음악이 기도와 함께 융합되어 가는 것이라는 사실을 알았다.

그러나 그 문장을 들었을때 전혀 기쁘지 않았고 마음이 어려웠다. 나는 사역하면서 기도하기 원했지 전적으로 기도사역만 하는 목회자가 되기는 원하지 않았다. 어떻게, 언제 해야 할지 몰랐다. 그러나 그것은 하나님의 말씀이기에 그 말씀 그대로 교회 벽에 큰 사인으로 붙여놓았다. 사람들은 “목사님 저게 뭐예요?”라고 물어보기도 했다. 그때마다 “나도 몰라”라고 대답했다. 16년간 그 사인을 벽에 붙인 채 지냈다.

이후 교회는 3∼4000명으로 성장됐다. 사람들은 계속 “저게 뭐냐”고 물었다. 나는 “나도 모른다. 일어날 것은 알지만 언제 어떻게 일어날지는 모른다. 무엇을 해야 하는지도 모른다. 그런데 일어날 것은 안다”고 말했다. 매일 저녁 인내심 갖고 기도하고 기다렸다.

16년이 지난 99년 5월에 하나님은 “이제 시작하라”고 했다. 그 명백한 말씀을 듣고서 나는 다시 전혀 기쁘지 않았다. 긴장됐고 무서웠다. 나는 물었다. “이렇게 어려운 것을 어떻게 해야 하나요?” 그러나 시작할 수 밖에 없었다. 그분의 말씀이기 때문이다.

나는 CCC와 국제예수전도단(YWAM)의 자비량선교 모델로 시작했다. 여건상 그렇게 밖에 할 수 없다고 생각했다. 잘 될지도 몰랐다. 하나님의 음성을 듣고 결국 교회를 사임했다. 교인들은 매우 슬퍼했다. 그들은 “목사님으로 그냥 있으면서 동시에 따로 사역하라”고 권했다. 그러나 나는 그럴 수 없었다. 기도의 집을 하기 위해서는 개인적으로 16시간 이상 시간을 투자해야 하는데 목회와 병행하기란 불가능했다.

공식적으로 교회를 사임했다. 교회에서 모든 이름을 빼고 교회와 상관없이 사역하기 시작했다. 자비량사역이었다. 당시 아내가 가장 힘들어했다. “도대체 무엇을 하려 하는가? 이건 아닌것 같다”고 했다.

첫해에 20명 정도의 젊은이들이 함께하겠다고 지원했다. 아주 적은 숫자였다. 2년째는 100명 정도 풀타임 스태프들이 생겼다. 이들은 한주에 50시간 사역을 해야 했다. 12년이 지난 지금 풀타임 스태프만 1000명이 되었다. 그리고 IHOP학교에 1000여명이 다닌다.

일부가 기도실에 있는 동안 예배팀은 라이브로 예배를 인도한다. 스태프 1000명 중 6~700명은 뮤지션들이다. 미국 전역에서 몰렸다. 예배는 하루 12번 나눠 매주 84번의 2시간 단위로 드린다. 일주일에 84팀이 168시간을 돌아가면서 한다. 2시간 예배가 끝날 때 3분 정도 전에 다음 팀이 올라와 예배를 인도한다. 따라서 음악이 끊기지 않고 예배가 진행된다. 12년 동안 1초도 예배가 멈추지 않고 진행되어가고 있다. 캔사스의 메인 기도실은 700석 정도 규모다. IHOP학교를 시작한 이유는 스태프가 되기를 원하지 않지만 훈련은 받고 싶어하는 사람드리 있기 때문이다. 이들이 지금 1000여명 정도다. 그 학생들도 일주일에 12시간은 기도실에서 보내야 한다.

-기도란 무엇인가? 한국교회는 적어도 기도에 관해서는 강력한 교회인데...
한국은 지난 50년간 전 세계 기도운동을 이끌었다. 특히 지난 10년간 남미 아프리카 등에서 큰 숫자의 기도운동의 증가가 전 세계적으로 일어났다. 나는 한국의 기도운동이 이런 세계적인 기도운동을 일으켰다고 생각한다. 기도운동에 있어 앞으로 50년간 한국교회는 이전보다 더 많은 영향력을 미칠 것이다.

기도를 단순하게 정의해 보자. 먼저 이사야 56장7절에 “내 집은 기도하는 집이라 불릴 것이다”고 나와 있다. 하나님께서는 자신의 백성들의 영원한 정체성을 말해주셨다. 바로 우리는 기도하는 사람들이라는 것이다. 이것은 주님이 재림하면 끝나는 정체성이 아니다. 영원히 불려질 정체성이다. 기도사역자들 뿐 아니라 모든 믿는 자들이 ‘기도의 집’이라 불려져야 한다.

기도는 ‘먼저 하나님께서 말씀하셔서 우리 마음을 움직이시고 우리가 다시 그것을 주님께 말씀드려 그분의 마음을 움직이는 것’이다. 그 때 그 분이 손을 펴시고 능력을 베푸셔서 이 땅 가운데 그분의 능력이 드러나는 것이다.

하나의 예이지만 60년대에 조용기 목사가 하나님으로부터 “내가 한국땅 서울에서 부흥일으키겠다”는 말씀을 들었다. 이에 조 목사가 마음에 감동 받는다. 그가 다시 그 받은 마음을 갖고 “주님, 이땅에 성령을 부어주세요”라고 기도한다. 하나님이 말씀하시는 것을 똑같이 다시 하나님께 올려 드리는 것이다. 이러면 하나님의 마음이 움직인다. 하나님께서 손을 펴시고 그분의 능력이 이 땅에 임하게 되는 것이다. 내가 믿기로는 이전부터 영원까지도 이와 동일한 방법으로 하나님의 능력이 움직일 것이다.

하나님께서 우리에게 말씀하신다. 그러면 우리가 하나님께 다시 간구한다. 하나님께서 그분의 능력을 우리를 통해서 풀어 넣어 주신다. 지금도 이 방법대로 움직인다. 과거도 그랬고 앞으로도 그럴 것이다. 그래서 나는 기도하는 문화를 이 땅 가운데 이뤄야 한다고 확신한다.

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and blessings to every one of you! Summer has started, and our family took a much-needed break from a busy routine and visited Branson, Missouri, where we enjoyed the beautiful canyons and mountains of the Ozarks and had a fun, relaxing family time. The family photo above is taken at the Hope Chapel in Dog Wood Canyon Park in Southern Missouri. Eileen will begin an exciting summer of serving and getting further training in planting prayer furnaces on university campuses with the Luke18Project (www.luke18project.com). Christine has almost saved up enough money for a horse camp this summer and is really excited about the prospect of learning more about horses. Anna has been picking up her gardening pastime and has been assisting others who want to learn to grow vegetables. I am continuing to faithfully raise support as an intercessory missionary and have spent a season of focused prayer. I have been privileged to connect with some of the most amazing Christian leaders in our area as well as speak into the lives of local high school students and mentor them. As the church, we have the duty of raising up this generation of young future leaders by speaking destiny into them. Many of them are so lost in the darkness and deception of our popular culture that their lives are being literally wasted. Jesus is their only solution, and He is their only hope for deliverance.

Summer at IHOP-KC

We are excited about what summer at IHOP-KC has to offer. Each year, thousands of young people become completely changed and develop a fiery passion for Jesus when they realize God’s heart for each of them. As parents, it is wisdom to send or even better to bring your precious children with you to spend a weekend, a week, a month, or even a couple of months here this summer. Please consider coming to Kansas City and participating in one of the many programs (for a comprehensive list of events this summer, go to www.ihop.org/events).

Israel and Korea

We have been praying for the raising up of 100 million intercessors for Israel globally. In addition, we are praying for the raising up 10 million Korean intercessors praying for peace in Jerusalem (Ps. 122:6) and for the salvation of Israel (Rom. 10:1). More than ever, we need Christians who would stand with Israel in the midst of growing hostility against Israel in the Middle East and recently in our own nation, the United States. Though we honor our political leaders, God promises to bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel. Of all people, Christians need to stand in strong support of Israel, eventually causing them to be provoked in godly jealousy toward Christians, leading to their ultimate acknowledgment of their Messiah and their salvation (Rom. 11:11). God is setting His intercessors on the wall, who would cry out to Him day and night on behalf of Israel. It is my prayer that out of the 100 million, that Koreans would cover 10% and fervently pray for God’s chosen nation—Israel. God bless Israel! Amen.

Greetings and Peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ! We want to thank you all for your thoughtfulness and prayers. Eileen is completing her first year in college by the grace of God and is continuing to be involved in many things, doing more than a typical part-time missionary, here at the missions base. Christine is developing a greater love for horses and wishes to run a horse stable operation someday. They are both growing and maturing in the Lord in their own ways. We have been attending a weekly Korean harp-and-bowl prayer meeting where Eileen is learning to pray Scripturally in Korean. She is already praying and preaching powerfully in English and is hoping to do the same in Korean and possibly in Spanish. Christine has such a favor with the Lord and has developed a powerful prayer anointing. Almost everyone that she prays for either gets immediately healed or restored spiritually. My wife Anna and I are continuing to pray that we would hear clearly from the Lord on a daily basis. Please pray for clarity, dreams, and visions, concerning the move of the Holy Spirit.

Israel Mandate (ihop.org/israelmandate)
We are about to have another Israel Mandate conference with David Pawson and other leaders, who sincerely love Israel. We are expecting to host 1,500 visitors for this important message concerning God’s plan for Israel. More than ever, we need to stand with Israel as a church. We need to pray for peace in Jerusalem (Ps. 122:6) and also for their salvation (Rom. 10:1). We need to know God’s heart for Israel—how much He loves them. God promises to bless and prosper those who love and bless Israel.

Praying for California
May the Lord bless you, and thank you as I know many of you participated in a season of urgent prayer and fasting with a heightened state of spiritual awareness and discernment. My beloved brothers and sisters, my heart aches as I cry out to God, how we need to mature and know the heart of God concerning our nations (America and also Korea) and over the state of California. We need to mature as individual Christians, as individual churches, as a state, and as a nation. Beloved, WE HAVE FORGOTTEN GOD when we should be growing in His love and understanding. Many of us in the Church have a false confidence in who we are and what we are about, having an agenda disconnected from the heart of God. All of our work will be tested with fire; some as the gold and others as wood, hay, and stubble that burns up to nothing. It is time to get serious about God in this hour. The fear of God is taking God and His Word seriously. This is not a time to be complacent in our perceived spiritual maturity. We need to examine our individual hearts before our holy God who is an all-consuming fire. Let’s get rid of all forms of sin and darkness that clouds our minds. Let’s pursue the holiness of God and continue to pray for God’s mercy. He will give us the strength and peace to overcome unto a victorious and glorious future.

Dear Partners and Friends,

As I write this letter, I am filled with a holy fear and trembling for our nation and my home state of California. I have been an intercessor for the Bay Area, California, since 1986 and have labored in various ministry settings over the years. As most of you know, my family and I have answered God’s call to be intercessory missionaries at IHOP-Kansas City since February 2008. Among many other nations and regions, we have been particularly praying for Israel, Korea, and America, with a special emphasis on the state of California. We have been asking God to open our ears and our hearts to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to us, the Church, and to understand the heart of God the Father.

There has never been a nation in history that has been more blessed by God than America. In fact, the Jewish people, God’s chosen people, refer to America as ‘the Land of the Covenant.’ Yet, we have forgotten God. We have removed prayer and Bible out of our public schools. We have murdered 50 million babies (1.5 million each year) since the court case, Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion in our nation. We have led the world in exporting an explosive wave of pornography that is now a $14 billion-a-year industry. Our divorce rate is over 50%, devastating marriages and a whole generation of children. Sexual permissiveness has cast off all restraints as immorality pervades the moral fabric of America. The homosexual agenda has risen over the past decades as houses of government have been thrust into an endless cycle of wavering between two opinions to redefine marriage. All of this is happening while church attendance of our youth has gone down below 4% (5% in the Bay Area only due to the rise in minority churches). California is leading the nation in all of these areas. Friends, WE ARE IN A MAJOR CRISIS. It brings us to tears as we feel the heart of God for this nation and for California. He is a holy God who brings judgment upon sin. It is God’s long-suffering, not wanting anyone to perish but all would come to salvation, that we have been in a season of mercy. However, because God is righteous and just and because He desires that many would turn to Him with all their hearts, He will judge the sins of California. Yes, Jesus has paid the penalty of our sin once and for all on the cross. That has not stopped from major natural disasters and other crises in history in Indonesia, New Orleans, Chile, New Zealand, Australia, and now recently Japan. With the confirmation of numerous men and women of God and the conviction of the Holy Spirit, we believe the West Coast is next. It is not a judgment unto utter destruction but unto mass salvation. We’re going witness one of the greatest revivals in the history of this nation as God uses the least severe means of judgment to bring the greatest number of people to repentance.

The time is urgent. We must cry out for God’s mercy over California and repent of compromise with sin in our own lives and for California. Pray for revival and salvation of many souls before the shaking. Pray that He will lessen the severity of the coming shaking. God promises to hear our earnest prayers (2 Chronicles 7:14). With urgency, I am giving a call to fast and pray for California, especially focused on the Bay Area. As the Church, we need to re-establish our true identity as a house of prayer, as a church that prays (Isaiah 56:7).

Join us as we pray 40 days for California until May 10th. You can join us in any way that you feel led to, whatever duration, a Daniel fast (no meats or sweets), juice fast, water fast, media fast, etc. Fasting is taking on a voluntary weakness, not to gain favor from God, but so that our hearts may be tenderized to hear from God. It is also the remedy (Joel 1-2) from God when our region or nation is in crisis. It is for such a time as this that we have been called into the kingdom. Let us seek God’s face in this critical hour.

· As we do this each year in April, we are resending the original newsletter to remind all of us of the purpose and why God has sent us here.

The following was written back in April 2008. The Lord has been faithful to fulfill His purposes in us all these years we have been here in Kansas City:

Greetings and peace to you in our Lord, Jesus Christ! We would like to share our vision and journey related to the new ministry that we believe the Lord is leading us into. We have ministered in the Bay Area for many years until the Lord had us switch our gears. It has been quite a journey, and the Lord has been showing us many things. We have gone through a process of dying to ourselves and really allowing the Lord to focus our attention on heaven and intimacy with His Son, Christ Jesus. We are answering a specific call from God that is somewhat unfamiliar to many. We feel God is calling forth a new type of missionaries across the earth. Most of us are familiar with missionaries that concentrate on “preaching” or “mercy deeds”; however, the Holy Spirit is raising up intercessory missionaries to prepare for and usher in the Second Coming of Christ. We will partner together with what God is already doing through the mercy deeds and preaching missionaries for the great outpouring of global revival.

The Lord is orchestrating a mighty intercessory worship movement that will cover the whole earth in the Last Days. We believe this somewhat forgotten biblical mandate of missions must be restored and operational in order to release the Great Harvest in full strength. It is mission-based in a way that vital prayers are offered up to cover those currently serving on the field. In addition, training at IHOP missions base lays the foundation for us to be sent out. Involvement in mission trips will open doors to the establishment of the Houses of Prayer in other nations, resulting in sending out of long-term missionaries.

These International Houses of Prayer are not just another church but a major step in the Lord’s Last Days Master Plan to bring in the Great Harvest that Jesus spoke about before He ascended to the Throne. Our desire is to minister to the Lord with the 24/7 House of Prayer ministering to Him on behalf of the nations. Jesus said in Luke 18:7, “and will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night?” We are contending for God to raise up men and women, young and old throughout the earth who are going to take charge in the Houses of Prayer. They will minister to the Lord for the release of His mercy and justice at greater levels.

Our future goal is to see 24/7 prayer furnaces being birthed to all the four corners of the earth. God is brewing this sense of urgency and desire in our hearts to see people come to know Jesus intimately and for revival to come. God is stirring our hearts to this call of an intercessory missionary. This will come out of living in deep intimacy with Jesus in a prayer and fasted lifestyle. As an overflow of that lifestyle, we will be serving in ministries at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, Missouri as intercessory missionaries. You are invited to join us in prayer as we prepare by faith to make this transition. We will be fully supported by the Lord via believers whom He leads to partner with us in our calling. Therefore, we excitedly invite you to prayerfully consider becoming part of this ministry through personal intercession and/or your financial support.

Park Family Update
Greetings and Peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ! Park family is doing very well by the grace of God. We are continuing to wait upon the Lord in the place prayer, with great and sobering anticipation for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit in this nation and all the nations of the earth. Eileen is being a voice for the Lord through academic excellence and boldly defending of her faith at school. She is leading worship and is also making a short movie about starting prayer meetings in high schools and middle schools. Christine is singing on the worship team at the Children’s Equipping Center. After having taken swimming lessons for the the past couple months, she is currently the best swimmer in our family.

Korean Conference on End Times
We recently hosted another Korean conference at IHOP-KC on End Times. Many people have prayed and fasted for this conference. More than 100 staff members served the 250 Korean pastors and leaders that attended this conference in various areas, from shuttle driving, ushering, media, to translation, prophetic teams, and healing teams. Half of the leaders were from Korea and the rest from the U.S. Four IHOP teachers spoke on topics of intimacy and prayer. Mike Bickle taught 17 sessions over the course of one week, and on Saturday morning, there was a question and answer session concerning the End Times. Many pastors and leaders returned home after the conference with the urgency and the determination to study as well as teach the Word of God regarding the End Times.

Christian Leaders Gather in Korea
There will be a significant and strategic meeting of Christian leaders in Seoul, Korea, starting this week for a 5-day conference. These are 100 top world leaders from various mega churches and missions organizations, who have significant leadership in their region or nation. They will be gathering to pray and fast as well as work closely together and to hear the word of the Lord. Mike Bickle will be presenting one of the seven presentations with the topic of “Prayer for Global Harvest with Music and in the Place of Intimacy.” He will also be visiting a number of mega churches in Korea, including the world’s largest with 500,000 members speaking on the similar topic. We believe there will be a significant marking of the Korean churches. Mike Bickle rarely travels and normally turns down many world invitations in order to be faithful to God’s mandate to build the House of Prayer. However, the Lord had prompted him that this would be a strategic meeting and that he was to go and speak on what the Spirit is saying in this hour. Please pray even a short 90-second prayer daily for physical strength and God’s wisdom for him to endure grueling schedules (typically 6AM to Midnight daily for three weeks) and fulfill God’s purpose.

Greetings and Peace to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We pray that the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ will fill your hearts in this season. We have been bombarded with heavy snow (14 inches in one day) in the last few weeks. So much so, that we couldn’t even get out of our street one day. Nonetheless, God has been extremely good in His kindness and faithfulness to our family this season. He is reminding us everyday of His immeasurable riches in mercy and grace, and we are full of His life in our spirits. Yes, the world has its share of fear, hatred, and confusion. However, remember that God is in full control and He knows what He is doing. If any of you is facing challenging times, whatever that may be, take courage and be at peace. He will lift you up on due time, and you will see the glory of God and the soon return of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord! After our parents’ miraculous move to Kansas City (KC) and my dad’s complete healing from a terminal bone disease (MDS) last year, my mother-in-law has recently also made a move to KC into her new home near by. My family and I are delighted to see her here. We believe that God has led her here for a specific purpose and plan, and we are happy for her. As we continue to press in hard in prayer, God has been revealing His heart to each of us with clarity and purpose.

Onething Conference 2010 Update
Onething 2010 conference (Dec. 28-31) has been a wonderful blessing to those who attended the event as well as those of us who hosted the event. We had 25,000 in attendance from across the nation and around the world seeking the face of God and His heart. Why 25,000? We believe this is an indication of the massive hunger in our spirits and God pouring His Spirit into our hearts that we may ask more of Him to fill us. Loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength is at the center of the Onething conferences, with emphasis on experiencing God’s passionate love for us and understanding His heart for the coming massive End-Time harvest. Also 2,000 people went through our healing rooms in a 3�day period, and over 450 people received healings.

Year 2011 Outlook
There is a spirit of holy fear as well as excitement in our hearts concerning the outlook of 2011. We believe that this will be a year of significant transition as echoed by a number of men and women of God that we have come in contact with over the years. There is an inward witness of the Holy Spirit that says there will be significant waves of genuine spiritual renewal and revival in various pockets in America as well as around the world in the midst of shifts, confusion, turmoil, and judgment. More than ever, we need to know and partner with the heart of Jesus. Therefore, with an open Bible and on our knees, we need to watch and pray as commanded by Jesus for such a time as this. God will pour out abundant joy, peace, and revelation as you seek Him!

Merry Christmas!!!
May your hearts be filled with joy and peace during this season and throughout the New Year!
Long ago, in the fullness of time, a child was born. He was no ordinary child. He was God, who came into this world in the flesh, born of a virgin, Mary. He lived a sinless life and suffered under Pontius Pilate. He was crucified, buried, and resurrected on the third day. He is now seated at the right hand of the Father and is coming again to reign and establish His Kingdom. He is the God-man, the Emmanuel, the Wonderful, the Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, and the Son of the Living God. He is Christ, our Lord and Savior! He chose to become a man, not only to die for you and me but also to be a man forever so that we can truly relate to Him. Our hearts are filled with awe and wonder as we ponder upon this man, Christ Jesus. Our family is doing well, led by the mighty hand of God. The Bible says to humble ourselves under His mighty hand and He will lift us up. Whatever you are going through in your life right now, God sees all and knows all. He will lift you up. God will raise up as well as bring down until our hearts are fully His. Just like Job declared, “…The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised!” (Job 1:21).

Global Day of Prayer for the Poor and Suffering
IHOP will be hosting the first-ever Global Day of Prayer for the Poor and Suffering, with the ‘Convoy of Hope’ led by Thomas Trask. He was the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God (60 million members) for about 14 years. This worldwide prayer event will be conducted from our Global Prayer Room (GPR) and will be joined by thousands of congregations through the web. It is scheduled for December 12 (Sun.) from 12 noon to 12 midnight. Before the announcement of this event, God highlighted Romans 12:12 which talks about being joyful always, patient in afflictions, and faithful in prayers. God also impressed upon my heart that something significant would happen on 12/12/2010, which I shared with some people. As you can imagine, we are excited about what God is going to do as He gathers millions united together in prayer on this issue of justice for the poor.

Onething Conference Reminder
This December will be the annual Onething conference. For the last four days of the year (December 28th – 31st), IHOP-KC will be hosting a young adult international conference at the Kansas City Convention Center in Kansas City, MO. We invite you to attend this conference with your entire family. There will be children’s tracks for ages 6-12. If you have not done so already, we encourage you to make arrangements now as we are expecting well over 25,000 attendees from all over the world. We want so much to share in the blessings of this conference and find out what God is doing across the globe today. It will truly bless your hearts as Jesus is magnified in the nations and in our generation.

Greetings from Kansas City with grace and peace to you in abundance!
The weather has now gotten quite cold here, and the leaves are falling with fall colors everywhere. God is continuing to humble our hearts and creating a deeper spiritual hunger in our spirits. We have just finished yet another 40-day Daniel fast for the mid-term elections and for California. We have asked God for godly leaders who would stand for the sanctity of life and marriage, and we make no apologies for having voted for such candidates. As Christians, we must choose to fear God rather than the opinions of men. Voting is a decisive, prophetic act. As we vote, we are making a statement before God and in the end, we will all be held accountable for our actions before the Righteous Judge. Let’s continue to seek God and turn our hearts to Him. He will reveal His heart and His plans to those who seek Him and His words.

Purple Pig Tour!
Over 40 years ago, Dick Eastman had a vision of young people contending 24/7 for revival in California. He established a prayer center, which helped birth the Jesus Movement that resulted in hundreds of thousands of people being saved and delivered from various addictions and from a spirit of hopelessness. He shared about that radical movement of prayer and revival in his book, The Purple Pig and Other Miracles. From 9/26/2010 to 10/9/2010, a team of young adults from TheCall, the International House of Prayer (IHOP-KC), Every Home for Christ (EHC), and Luke18 Project traveled through California under the banner of “the Purple Pig Tour!” The team worked with college ministries, local churches, and prayer ministries to call this young generation to a culture of prayer and a life of mission. California is again in desperate need of another mighty move of the Holy Spirit, like the Jesus Movement in the late 1960s and 70s. In response to the tour, thousands of young adults received salvation, and over 120 colleges volunteered to participate in a 21-day fast for revival in California. 500 students committed to be student volunteers for the next Jesus Movement and 95% of them being Asians. Also, some events that will be taking place in Southern California are a youth and young adult conference, the FIGHT! conference (11/11-13/2010) and The Student Call (11/13/2010) to contend for revival in our nation and on college campuses at Glory Church in L.A. We are believing for another great revival in California, and we as the Church must be in the place of prayer and agree with His purposes for this generation.

Family Update/Prayer Needs

Greetings, faithful prayer and financial partners!
We are humbled and profoundly moved in our spirit to know that we are one-half way into our third year, living as intercessory missionaries. We began this journey without being funded and without knowing where our next meal was going to come from. All we had was God’s clear call and timing to move us here to Kansas City to become intercessory missionaries. There are now nearly 700 of us doing this full time; over 1,100 on our staff; another 1,200 in IHOPU (International House of Prayer University); and over 4,000 in our missions base family. The numbers have more than doubled since we moved here. Our ministry is currently impacting over 180 nations around the world via the webstream. God has been faithful to our missions base family as well as our own immediate family. Our oldest daughter Eileen is adjusting and doing well in her college. My wife, Anna, drives Eileen to school in the morning and homeschools our younger daughter, Christine, in the cafeteria while waiting for Eileen to finish her classes. By the grace of God, they are both doing extremely well both academically and spiritually. I can hardly keep up with Eileen’s whole-hearted devotion to God. I can hardly keep up with Christine’s social skills and the way she carries God’s joy and peace in her heart. A number of people expressed having experienced healing and joy just being around Christine. My wife and I are enjoying a greater level of joy and strength in our marriage. We have just experienced a major attack of the enemy against our family, but we are even more resolute and strong than ever before. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for covering us in prayers! Please continue to pray for us.

Grandview Outreach Results

A historic outreach in greater Grandview, Missouri (Kansas City area), took place last month for the past three weeks. It resulted in over 1,100 brand new salvation of souls. We prayed for, anticipated, and labored for many souls to come into the Kingdom, and we are very thankful and excited about this new addition to God’s family. These new converts are currently being connected to local churches, including discipleship groups and neighborhood Bible clubs, so that they can grow spiritually as new Christians. It was a wonderful privilege for us to have been a part of this. We have outreaches throughout the year and are anticipating a greater harvest each year in the thousands. Praise and glory to God!

Invitation to “Onething 2010”

Onething 2010 conference is quickly approaching. It takes place again this year during the last four days in December (12/28-31). The registration is free, but you must register. We want to invite you to join over 20,000 young adults for worship, teaching, and ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit. Simultaneous translations are available for those who would like to hear the message in Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, Russian, and Arabic. Greetings from IHOP Kansas City!
This has been a wonderful year of the beginning of God’s End-Time revival. Are you excited to know that in the last 10 months, we have had over 7,000 written testimonies of physical healings, inner healings, or how God touched changed their lives in significant ways? Are you excited to hear that we have had over 1,700 water baptisms during that same time? I had the wonderful privilege of personally baptizing some of those people. Many more thousands of people have been touched as the awakening meetings are webcasted to over 180 nations. Hundreds of college campuses, churches, and prayer ministries also have been touched by God in significant ways during this season of awakening. I can’t even begin to tell you what’s currently happening in the mission field. Tens of thousands are coming to faith in Jesus Christ and developing a new hunger for Jesus and His truth. When we cry out to God in prayer as individuals and corporate bodies, God hears us, does miracles, and gives us revelation of His heart. God is simply amazing! Our family has been wonderfully privileged to be a part of this End-Time global revival that is just beginning to take place before the coming of the Lord of glory! Eileen has just received her driver’s license and begun the 1st day of college, fully funded through various government aids and scholarships. Thank God! As missionary parents, we didn’t have a budget or savings set aside for her college. This is amazing favor from the Lord. Christine has also started her new school year, continuing to do homeschool with her mom at Eileen’s college library while they wait for her. They are all adjusting well to the early morning schedule. My wife, Anna, is simply an amazing woman, being a loving and caring wife, a homemaker, a homeschooling mom, an impressive daughter-in-law, a prayer room staff, kids’ chauffeur, and most of all, a lover of Jesus, all without getting burnt out. Anna is able to do this because she is God’s favorite child (which we all are individually) and she is keeping the oil of intimacy in her heart. She is enabling our family to live out this intercessory missionary life. Lord-willing, I am going to do something special for her 40th birthday this November (November 24th if you must know). Please continue to pray for our family for protection from the enemy and provision to live out this life of missionary, which God has mandated us 3 years ago.

Prayer Watch 2010
We just had a historic gathering of 80 evangelical prayer ministry leaders over the weekend, crying out to God for mercy and revival in our nation. Some of them have been leading prayer ministries for nearly 50 years. Some of the leaders included: Mrs. Bill Bright of Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC), Dick Eastman of Every Home for Christ, Karen Covell of Hollywood Prayer Network, and many others.

The Call Sacramento
By the time you are reading this missions letter, we would be in Sacramento, CA to take part in the solemn assembly. God’s remedy for His people is to gather, fast, consecrate, and cry out to God for mercy when a nation is in crisis. Both the United States and Korea are facing tremendous challenges and crisis right now, and we must follow God’s prescription of how we are to respond. Please join us in prayer as we cry out to God for mercy. It could change the course of our nation and avert the judgment of God, resulting in a massive revival.

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus!
We want to thank you for your continual prayers and partnership with us. It’s always encouraging to know that there are people supporting what we do here in the Lord’s will. Your responses lift us up and help us realize that God truly is and has been faithful to us.
As we continue to labor and pour hours in the Prayer Room to seek God’s face and pray for regional and global revival, we were given the privilege of serving 4,000+ young adults and youth who have come through IHOP this summer. Many of them experienced transformation and a marking in their lives, and this is evidenced from hearing their testimonies. Some have been coming every summer for three straight years, and their parents have testified how their son’s or daughter’s life has been changed completely. Many teens and young adults today face tremendous challenges in life. They come from all sorts of backgrounds and situations, and many of them have severe emotional and spiritual brokenness. Serving as ministry captains on a daily basis, Anna and I personally see God delivering many people from demonic oppressions and healing people of emotional wounds. Although complete freedom and healing is an on-going process for these young people, they turn around with such newly-found joy and boldness to go back to their homes, churches, and school campuses as fiery lovers of God and bold witnesses of Jesus. They do this because they encountered Jesus in an extremely personal and powerful way. Eileen has also been serving them as a part of the Student Ministries internship for the summer. Along with about 50 other local teens, she’s been giving leadership in praying for and ministering to the teens that come for IHOP’s Awakening Teen Camp, interceding for the youth of the nation, doing prophetic evangelism, and more. She is constantly challenged by her peers, the students in the internship, to go harder after God. It’s wonderful to see what God is doing in our children’s hearts here. The Lord is raising them up as fiery lovers of God and bold, anointed witnesses of Jesus. Christine is still on the shy side, but she is a social butterfly and is not afraid of reaching out to people with a heart of compassion.
God has put on our hearts to take short-term ministry trips to California, Japan, Korea, China, Myanmar, Iraq, Egypt, and Israel. Please pray we will hear His voice and not lack anything in provision or obedience.

The Call Sacramento
We are planning to go to The Call Sacramento (9/3�4) and trusting that God will provide the way. This is an all-day solemn assembly of fasting and prayer (10AM to 10PM) for revival in California as well as our nation. We are calling on the consecrated ones who hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to the Church in this hour and obey the mandate of Joel 2. Many of us do not realize that we are in a crisis, globally, nationally, and spiritually. At times like this, the prophet Joel tells us that we need to declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly, summon all to the house of God (where His saints are gathered), and cry out to God for mercy and His outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the only hope for California and this nation. We are believing and contending for this revival fire to spread into the nations.

Family Update
It has been an amazing summer so far. We had the privilege of hosting 300 teens at IHOP for the Awakening Teen Camp for two weeks and another 1,400 teens for the Fascinate high school conference. Many of them were deeply touched by the Lord and will go back and set their high school and college campuses ablaze with revival fire. They came from all over the nation as well as overseas countries such as England, Korea, and Egypt. Eileen is serving as a Student Ministries intern along with 50 other local teens. For two months, the internship includes serving at Awakening Teen Camps, participating in worship sets and prayer meetings, evangelizing, and connecting in small groups. After the Student Ministries Internship and the summer is over, she will be starting college as a communications major. Christine will be starting 5th grade this fall and excelling in school, especially math. It’s amazing how the Lord wires each child so uniquely and differently. Anna is taking a summer break from homeschooling and enjoying more time in the prayer room with Christine. I am continuing to give leadership in the PHD (Prophecy, Healing, and Deliverance) department and over the ministry captains during the IHOPU Awakening meetings. I am planning on a support-raising trip to California in August. As we have been praying and fasting for revival, I have been very encouraged to hear increasing reports of the Holy Spirit touching people in Northern California. I believe the Lord is beginning to awaken His Bride in pockets of the region and will continue to move across the entire state. Please continue to pray for a mighty move of God in California!

Grandview Outreach to reach 30,000
We have been praying to hear God’s heart, and He has opened the doors for a major outreach this fall. We are expecting to reach 30,000 people with the combined efforts of local churches, IHOP, YWAM, Call2All, Impact World Tour, and more. It’s been estimated that we will have 3,000 new believers brought into the Kingdom of God during the two-week period of outreach in late August. Among 15 churches that are working together in the greater Grandview area, we are currently mobilizing about 500 small group leaders to take in the new converts so that they can be nurtured and discipled. This model will continue to spread to reach the 500-mile radius surrounding the greater Grandview area and eventually throughout this nation. Please pray that God will move mightily!

National Prayer Committee @ IHOP
We are continuing to experience the convergence of various missions and prayer movements throughout the globe. International House of Prayer (IHOP) will be hosting 85 prayer teams in August 26-29 (Thursday 6PM to Sunday 12PM), including Shirley Dobson from Focus on the Family, Vonette Bright from Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC), and many others. It will be a gathering of a solemn assembly (Joel 2) to cry out for mercy on America. We are on the verge of the body of Christ uniting in the greatest prayer movement in history, leading up to the Second Coming of Christ. Let’s press on in prayer and continue to partner with God’s heart for us, our churches, our cities, and the nations.

Family Update
Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord!
How time flies! We have been missionaries here for the past two and one-half years now. Our older daughter Eileen is doing the Student Ministries Internship this summer and will be going to college this fall with a heart for media and communications. Our younger daughter Christine will be continuing homeschool this fall and will be in 5th grade. Unlike her sister’s interest in creative writing and English, she enjoys math and problem solving. Eileen and I had a wonderful ministry trip to Northern California this month. I preached at three Korean churches, and we led a children’s retreat (1st-5th) at one of the churches. The Holy Spirit moved mightily among us at the retreat through the preaching (by both me and Eileen), worship, and the prayer meetings (led by kids). During ministry time, the kids encountered God’s love and felt His presence. Many were set free from heart wounds and the lies of the enemy. They were weeping and later testified that God touched their hearts with His love and filled them with His joy. It was an amazing time of the Holy Spirit breaking in with power. As we met with different groups and individuals, we felt the Lord’s presence and were able to minister to and encourage the body of Christ. We were encouraged to see God awakening His Church to love Him and also see a remnant of God faithfully praying for the End-Time outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Korean Passion for Jesus Conference
The Korean Passion for Jesus conference also took place this month and was another powerful testimony to the great things that God is doing in our day for His glory. Nearly 700 Korean pastors and leaders came from all over the U.S., Korea, New Zealand, Australia, Russia, and other nations for the conference. This conference was IHOP’s first international conference devoted to one ethnic group. We witnessed the powerful and unique heritage of fervent prayer of the Korean people. They were refreshed and touched by God. Many of them also experienced various healings in their bodies and hearts. We also had the privilege of baptizing 40 Koreans in one day during the conference. We believe that this conference is the beginning of some of the specific prophetic promises that were given 27 years ago. The current move of God will reach the Asian nations, and it is coming to Korea. God is raising up an End-Time intercessory army of God to complete the Great Commission unto the Gospel of the Kingdom being preached to the ends of the earth and the ultimate salvation of His people, Israel, before the Lord’s return.

Onething Regional in Fremont, CA
The Onething Regional conference is coming to the Bay Area on July 4-5, 2010 at Forerunner Chinese Christian Church (http://en.forerunner.cc) in Fremont, CA. The guest speakers will include IHOP speakers such as Mike Bickle, Dwayne Roberts, and Misty Edwards (who will also lead worship). This is an incredible opportunity to experience the onething conference in the Northern California area. Please make plans to attend. You don’t want to miss it!

Family Update
Grace and peace to you from Kansas City! By the grace of God, many exciting things are happening during this season. Eileen and I will be in San Jose, CA from 5/4 to 5/9 ministering to a group of children at Onnuri Church’s family retreat. Our heart is for them to encounter God in a personal and powerful way so that they may experience the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in these last days. I have been told that they had already experienced a move of the Holy Spirit in a significant way last year. They were weeping and repenting of their sins for an hour without being told. We are praying that God will release the spirit of prayer and the revelation of God’s heart for each one of them.
The Awakening meetings at IHOP have been going on for almost six months, and so far, we have had over 1,300 water baptisms and 5,000 submitted testimonies of salvation, deliverance, and healings. I am serving as a ministry captain every night at these meetings and witnessing firsthand people being delivered and healed by God. They are getting delivered from depression, self-hatred, drug and pornography addiction, etc., as well as healed from cancer, tumor, back pain, paralysis, dental problems, and many more. As a group of us were praying for one young man, he had rose-scented oil coming out of his hands supernaturally. We believe God was increasing a healing anointing on him to reach many souls in the nations.
We have many people visiting from all over the world, particularly Koreans who are hungry to experience God’s presence. When we end our Awakening meetings at 12 midnight each night, many Koreans will often go over to the 24-hour Global Prayer Room (700-seat) and pray all night into the early morning hours. Now, that’s dedication! In fact, we are about to have the first ever all-Korean Passion for Jesus conference 5/10 to 5/15 for the Korean leaders. We believe God is raising up the people of Asia in this hour for the End-Time missions movement to complete the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20).

Prayer and Missions Converge!
IHOP and YWAM (Youth With A Mission) continue to combine global prayer and missions efforts in significant ways. YWAM’s founder Loren Cunningham has invited Mike Bickle (founder of IHOP) to meet one-on-one to discuss a very important mandate that God has just given him. IHOP and YWAM have had dynamic partnership over the last 10 years. Now, houses of prayer are being built across the global mission fields where YWAM has its presence. One day, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Jesus Christ is Lord (Yahweh). One day, the whole earth will be filled with God’s glory – when Jesus, our King, returns. Hallelujah! Amen.

Dear Friends and Family, we are humbled to commemorate our 2-year anniversary of serving the Lord as intercessory missionaries for End-Time global revival. I am including the following original newsletter from two years ago in April 2008 to reiterate our calling:

April 2008 Original Newsletter
Greetings and peace to you in our Lord, Jesus Christ! We would like to share our vision and journey related to the new ministry that we believe the Lord is leading us into. We have ministered in the Bay Area for many years until the Lord had us switch our gears. It has been quite a journey, and the Lord has been showing us many things. We have gone through a process of dying to ourselves and really allowing the Lord to focus our attention on heaven and intimacy with His Son, Christ Jesus. We are answering a specific call from God that is somewhat unfamiliar to many. We feel God is calling forth a new type of missionaries across the earth. Most of us are familiar with missionaries that concentrate on “preaching” or “mercy deeds”; however, the Holy Spirit is raising up intercessory missionaries to prepare for and usher in the Second Coming of Christ. We will partner together with what God is already doing through the mercy deeds and preaching missionaries for the great outpouring of global revival.
The Lord is orchestrating a mighty intercessory worship movement that will cover the whole earth in the Last Days. We believe this somewhat forgotten biblical mandate of missions must be restored and operational in order to release the Great Harvest in full strength. It is mission-based in a way that vital prayers are offered up to cover those currently serving on the field. In addition, training at IHOP missions base lays the foundation for us to be sent out. Involvement in mission trips will open doors to the establishment of the Houses of Prayer in other nations, resulting in sending out of long-term missionaries.
These International Houses of Prayer are not just another church but a major step in the Lord’s Last Days Master Plan to bring in the Great Harvest that Jesus spoke about before He ascended to the Throne. Our desire is to minister to the Lord with the 24/7 House of Prayer ministering to Him on behalf of the nations. Jesus said in Luke 18:7, “and will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night?” We are contending for God to raise up men and women, young and old throughout the earth who are going to take charge in the Houses of Prayer. They will minister to the Lord for the release of His mercy and justice at greater levels.
Our future goal is to see 24/7 prayer furnaces being birthed to all the four corners of the earth. God is brewing this sense of urgency and desire in our hearts to see people come to know Jesus intimately and for revival to come. God is stirring our hearts to this call of an intercessory missionary. This will come out of living in deep intimacy with Jesus in a prayer and fasted lifestyle. As an overflow of that lifestyle, we will be serving in ministries at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, Missouri as intercessory missionaries. You are invited to join us in prayer as we prepare by faith to make this transition. We will be fully supported by the Lord via believers whom He leads to partner with us in our calling. Family Update
We have been attending the IHOPU Awakening meetings every day (Wed. through Sat., 6pm to 12 midnight) and have been giving leadership in ministering to people in the areas of Prophecy, Healing and Deliverance. We have been experiencing a mighty move of God at the meetings. Here are some of the statistics (as of 2/22/2010): We have been meeting for 14 weeks; 61 meetings; 400 hours; 1,500 daily attendance; 30,000 daily live web cast viewers from 188 nations; 1,100 baptisms; and 3,800 testimonies. People from all over the globe as well as some personal friends are visiting here to experience the healing and deliverance power of God. We also have been experiencing personal deliverance and freedom in our family. God is purifying His Bride so that we may be raised up as bold messengers of the Truth. Jesus is coming, and we are to be ready for His immanent return (1 Peter 4:7).

40 Days of Daniel Fast Invitation
We want to invite you to a strategic 40-day Daniel fast (Dan. 10, no meat, sugar, refined grains, yeast, etc.) for our nation. From March 1 through April 9, we will be fasting and praying specifically for college campuses. We believe there will once again be a great revival, starting from the Boston area and throughout New England and then spreading to Florida, Texas, and California. We have been receiving many prophetic words, visions, and dreams from various sources across cultures and denominations that God is about to begin a mighty revival out of the Boston area, which will spread to California and to the rest of the globe. IHOP is sending out the entire IHOPU student body of 300 consecutively during the 40 days to the Ivy League schools to preach and power-evangelize in prophecy, healing, and deliverance. We will be confronting the ideology of secular humanism of our time with the fear of the Lord and the love of God. We believe that God has given us the “green light” for this historical move of God’s Spirit in our time. I have been praying for revival in the Bay Area since 1986. We believe that this is the moment of God’s Acts 2:17 outpouring of His Spirit for the entire nation as well as the globe. Therefore, we urge you to continue to fast and pray for God’s End-Time outpouring of His Spirit for the regions and nations that God has burdened us with. We are truly living in exciting times. Please join us in fasting and praying for these 40 days as you are led by the Holy Spirit.

Haiti Update
Please join us in prayer for Haiti. Since the recent earthquake that devastated the entire nation, God has been opening doors for wide-spread repentance and revival. Our urban rescue-equipped medical, pastoral, and logistics teams have been deployed in rotation and actively bringing practical help as well as the message of hope in Christ Jesus. Just last week, outdoor prayer meetings were being held every morning that started with 2,000 members and then quickly jumped to 14,000 in just two days. That’s 14,000 Haitians crying out to God and seeking His face for the nation. During those two days alone, God brought 1,021 Haitians into God’s Kingdom. These are truly the days of a mighty move of God’s Spirit. We are going to see mass salvations across the earth as the global End-Time harvest is beginning. Signs, wonders, and miracles are going to increase to confirm the Gospel of the Kingdom. This is the hour for the Church to rise up and partner with what God is doing across the globe through praying, speaking the truth boldly, and giving.

Family Update
Our family had the wonderful privilege and opportunity to minister as guest speakers at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church Young Adults’ Retreat, “Deliverance 2010.” The retreat took place at Camp Santa Cruz in Northern California. Anna and I alternated in teaching and giving leadership to the sessions. Eileen ran the 24/7 prayer room at the retreat. She also led worship on the keyboard during ministry times and brought us into God’s strong presence. Christine was able to pray for different people and charmed everyone with her contagious smile. Many people felt that there were angels during ministry times and four people separately described seeing them in same specific ways. This was the group’s largest winter retreat of about 85 people. Many were coming hungry for a touch from God. As the theme of the retreat was deliverance, we went through sessions where we corporately repented and renounced different spiritual strongholds of darkness and its manifestations and fruits. Although most of them were a bit puzzled at first for having to repent and renounce so many strongholds, they began to understand its significance toward the second half. They realized what the enemy had stolen from them and became determined to regain God’s freedom, abundant life, and blessings by renouncing all spiritual bondages and lies of the enemy. This was such a freeing experience even for me. Just as we prayed for and hungered for, Holy Spirit met us powerfully. Many were able to encounter the heart of God toward them and were set free from bondages. He filled us with joy from the Holy Spirit, and many of us were jumping and dancing during worship and ministry times. It was a divine exchange: we gave Jesus our ashes, mourning, and despair, and He gave us a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of gladness for mourning, and a garment of praise for a spirit of despair (Isaiah 61:3). We encouraged them to continually seek His face and experience His presence.

Emmanuel Church Awakening
This is not the end. What took place at the retreat, we believe, is going to increase at Emmanuel and in the Bay Area. We believe this retreat was truly a Joel 2 moment. We repented and renounced strongholds that we had agreed with the enemy to set up in our lives. We did this in order for the Lord to cleanse and consecrate us so that “Afterwards, I (The LORD) will pour our My Spirit on all flesh…” (Joel 2:28). God had previously given me a specific prophetic dream in December 2007 of what He was going to do in Northern California. The dream had to do with specific series of events and immediately afterwards, God began to pour out His Spirit upon the Bay Area. In this dream, God was marking Emmanuel and Onnuri churches in San Jose. There are many Bay Area churches that we have been praying for such as Orchard City, New Life, New Vision, New Hope, JooSonGil, Jubilee, etc., but these two churches have been specifically on our hearts since 2007. The events in the dream being recently fulfilled as foretold, we believe that we are now moving into the season of God’s outpouring of His Spirit in the Bay Area. We encourage you to pray for the Lord to continue to release more of His Spirit and that we may faithfully steward all that God is releasing to us. Let us seek God’s divine wisdom and be continually filled with the Holy Spirit that we may not be offended with what God is doing. Let us become fully mature bride of Christ and partner with Him to prepare ourselves as a church for the Great End-Time Harvest of souls. JESUS IS COMING, and he is at our doorsteps. May the Holy Spirit awaken our spirits and give us the spirit of prayer like never before!

Family Update
Happy New Year 2010! We feel that this is going to be a significant year for many reasons. We are experiencing a move of God in our midst that has been spreading to over 180 nations and we are expecting more great things from God this year. God is continuing to heal sick bodies and broken hearts. God has also allowed us to have over 1,000 baptisms in just two months. Anna and I are serving as ministry captains during the awakening meetings (Wed. to Sat.) from 6PM to 12 midnight, ministering to hundreds of people. There have been many physical as well as emotional healings. A lady I prayed for had her ear completely opened up and healed from deafness. Praise God! People are being filled with joy from God and being set free from bondages of heaviness, shame, fear, and self-hatred.
The girls have also been a part of these awakening meetings. Eileen has been experiencing some breakthrough in her own heart, and God’s given her a greater heart for pursuing holiness and interceding for her generation. Christine feels a bit tired going daily from 6PM until midnight, but she is still praying for people at the meetings, and people are getting healed. Praise God!
We have been noticing that God has been bringing children of former revivalists to our midst. There is a person here whose grandfather was part of the Azusa Street revival in 1906. I met Korean pastors who are second, third, and even fourth generation pastors, which is extremely rare. My wife and I are fourth generation ourselves, with our grandfather being a pastor shortly after the Korean Pentecost in 1907. Among our American friends, there are sixth and even ninth generation pastors. We feel that God is converging the children of former revivalists in our midst to bring a massive End-Time revival in our lifetime, which we believe has already begun.

OneThing ’09 Conference
Many people have been healed and touched by God during the OneThing conference this year. From December 28-31, nearly 20,000 people gathered here from all over the world, and countless more have logged on via web-stream. During the meeting, two people bound to wheelchairs got up and walked out of their wheelchairs. We had 715 baptisms during the 3-day meeting. Anna and I served as healing ministers, ministry captains, sound tech, and shuttle driver during the conference going from 7AM until 1AM each day. We’re thankful God gave us supernatural energy and stamina to serve with glad hearts. As a PHD department team, we prayed for 900 people for healing and prophesied to 1,800 people (taking 15 to 30 minutes per person). God touched each person in a unique and significant way. At this year’s conference, we had many IHOP speakers as well as a special guest, Loren Cunningham, share the Word of the Lord. Loren Cunningham is the founder of YWAM (Youth With a Mission). We were blessed to have him come and bless us with a spiritual father’s blessing. It was also an opportunity to forge an even stronger relationship and commitment toward one another as IHOP (International House of Prayer) and YWAM (Youth With a Mission), two of the leading prayer and missions movements in the world. We are living in extraordinary times. We believe God will continue to do great things this year. He will visit many of you as individuals and church bodies as He prepares a united, mature Bride to partner with Him for His plans and purposes in these last days.

Family Update
We are entering our third winter season here in Kansas City, and we’ve had our first snow of the season last week. We are so grateful for God’s faithfulness and provision through partners like you. We would not be here and do what we have been called to do without your faithful prayers and financial support. May the Lord continue to bless each and every one of you in every way and protect you from the schemes of the evil one.
I have just returned from a week-long ministry trip to California. My personal matter was already taken care of even before I visited CA. Praise God! Therefore, the entire week turned into a ministry trip. I met daily with people who contacted me prior to my trip and also had several divine appointments. I had the opportunity to share at four different churches, and the Lord moved powerfully each time. There was a deep hunger in people’s hearts, and God met them and touched their hearts. In one church, I ministered to people for hours after the message because they were so eager to receive from the Lord. I am thankful for the deep hunger for intimacy with God at every church. God is raising up His Church, the Bride of Christ, to be those who intimately know Him and eagerly await His return.

IHOP Spiritual Awakening
Since November 11, 2009 morning, we have been experiencing a strong move of the Holy Spirit at IHOP. A few days prior to that day, a young female International House of Prayer University (IHOPU) student gave her spontaneous testimony of how God delivered her instantly from a spiritual bondage of self-hatred that had plagued her since she experienced attempted rape when she was 15. She had gone through years of counseling and therapy without much success. Then recently, she was delivered immediately from self-hatred and an eating disorder. When she was asked to pray for other people, 30-40 other students also experienced instant freedom during student chapel time. Then on November 11th, the Holy Spirit outpouring began during a classroom session of 250 students. All the classes were cancelled as a result, and the entire faculty and the students joined in. The word spread rapidly, and the crowd began to gather. The class was held in a 1300-seat auditorium and nearly 2000 people gathered to experience the Holy Spirit outpouring and this went on from 9AM to 12 Midnight (15-hours). There were massive healings, deliverances, and bursts of joy beyond measure. The IHOP leadership realized that this was an unusual move of the Holy Spirit (more intense than normal) and decided to hold nightly meetings from 6PM to 12 Midnight at least until the end of December, taking breaks on Mondays and Tuesdays. Our family has been a part of this from the beginning. Currently, these meetings are being webcasted in 163 nations, and testimonies are pouring in from across the nation and many college campuses as well as many other nations. Some people were instantly converted and saved. There were 114 water baptisms in the last two weeks alone. We have hundreds of testimonies of healing from hearing loss, poor vision, hip injury from falling off of a 5-story building, damaged vocal chords, diabetes, carpal tunnel syndrome, heart diseases, breast tumor, dyslexia, asthma, arthritis, scoliosis, back pains, depression, and many more. We believe God has begun something that is a part of something bigger to come. We do not want to exaggerate or diminish what He is doing in our midst as well as around the globe. I share this to encourage you and stir up your faith. Let us continue to press in and pray that we may experience more miracles of salvation, restoration, and healing.

It was another powerful night. All the seats and standing spaces were filled one hour before the meeting even started. People received freedom from the spirit of heaviness and depression. Also, the Lord encountered pastors and ministry leaders who only preached from the head knowledge about God without personally experiencing the Father’s love. One person felt like she had the reputation of being alive but dead on the inside, but she felt alive and loved for the first time. Due to continuing wind of the Spirit, IHOP leadership decided to continue the gatherings for another week.

Holy Spirit Visitation Day 4

Last night, there was a continuation of the move of the Holy Spirit. There was a young lady whose eye sight was completely restored instantly and no longer needs glasses. Several people were instantly and completely healed from asthma, which they had for over ten years. Another person watching via webstreaming was healed instantly of asthma. Asthma is a growing phenomenon among Korean youths. People used to think this was due to poor air quality. We now know that this is due to feelings of abandonment. Lord, realease the Father's heart to the youth of Korea. Many young people came up to receive prayer for feelings of bondage to shame, self-hatred, and suicidal thoughts due to sexual assault in their young age. Many of them were instantly delivered and experienced joy and freedom. The praise and worship was full of anointing, joy, love, and peace. We are now contending for the fear of the Lord and the spirit of repentance to hit the IHOP community.

Holy Spirit Visitation Day 3

We are meeting everyday at the FSM building for the next four days from 6PM to Midnight and then, IHOP leadership will evaluate as to whether or not we will continue to hold these meetings. Last night, there was another powerful move of the Holy Spirit. It seems like the intensity is growing everyday. We had more instant testimonies of salvations, healings, and deliverances. Also, there were email testimonies of those who were webcasting. The 1300 seat auditorium was filled with about 2200 people with standing room only. The whole IHOP community knew that this type of refreshing was coming through dreams, visions, prophetic words within our community. I personally had a dream on 7/25/2009 that this exact event would happen. We feel that this would continue for at least few more days if not weeks. Lord, we desire more of you. Lord prepare us and Your Church for what is coming. Amen!

Holy Spirit Visitaion Day 2

The IHOP Leadership has decided to hold spontaneous spiritual revival meetings everyday starting today from 6PM to midnight on top of the 24/7 Prayer that has been going on for 10 years. We believe that God is doing something and He is preparing all of us for something BIG that is coming. We believe that God is "cleaning up" the house with massive deliverance, freedom, healing, and joy before His significant visitation. Many people got healed and delivered of various sicknesses and bondages. Let's pray together for His visitation (spiritual renewal) to come upon every local church.

Holy Spirit Visitation today 11/11/09 at IHOP

The Holy Spirit came down strongly at the IHOPU FSM building since 9AM this morning and it is still on-going after midnight. I believe this is a start of something big yet to come! People were getting delivered and freed in mass numbers. Over a thousand people spontaneously gathered after hearing what is going on and many of them are still there including IHOP senior leaders. We will continue to monitor and report what God is doing here which will go to the nations. It is significant that this happened at the same time 150 Korean pastors are visiting IHOP for a Korean pastors conference. I believe that God is confirming what he is about to do through the partnership of Asian Christians, particularly the Koreans, with IHOP. This is the beginning stages of what was prophesied 27 years ago. I had the exact dream of what took place today including each of the leaders that were present back on 7/25/2009. We believe that God is about to do something that will touch His Church globally.

Family Update
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. How time flies! The Park family will be having a special thanksgiving this year. My parents have recently moved here from Virginia to be a part of the IHOP family. Some of you know that my dad was diagnosed with an incurable disease called MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome) and was given a few Procrit shots only to improve his quality of life. When my dad visited IHOP in July ’09, he was prayed for and is now completely healed according to the hematology/oncology doctors in both Virginia and Kansas City. Hallelujah! Through a series of other miraculous events, they have now moved to Kansas City permanently as led by the Lord. From living a peaceful, retirement life in Virginia, they are now beginning a life of prayer in the prayer atmosphere of IHOP-KC. We have many reasons to be thankful for this year as we’ve already seen God’s hand in moving my parents/kids’ grandparents to Kansas City. My 9-year-old daughter Christine was verbalizing how she is thankful that we have a roof over our heads. Eileen mentioned how thankful she is that our family is called to the life of prayer and pursuing God with our everything. I’m so thankful for my wife and children, who have been very supportive of life as missionaries throughout the year with all the difficult challenges and tremendous rewards.

Korean Pastors Conferences
In November 2009, 170 pastors from Korea will come to IHOP-Kansas City for a unique Korean pastors conference, where they will be learning about the core IHOP values (Intercession, Holiness, Offering to the poor, and the Prophetic). In May of 2010, there will be a conference for Korean pastors called, Passion for Jesus, at IHOP-KC. We are also planning to have Onething Conference Korea in February 2011. The IHOP message is now going out through CGN -TV Korea and GodTV. Also, just this week, we had scores of significant international prayer leaders from every continent. My point is this: I believe that God is stirring up something all over the globe for the preparation of Jesus’ Second Coming by preparing His church to be a holy and blameless Bride, ready for her King. We see it in the nations as we approach the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is opening more doors for me and my family to minister at IHOP-KC as well as outside IHOP-KC. I will be in the San Jose, CA area from November 14 through 21 for some personal matters and as well as to speak at few churches in the area.

Praying for San Jose, CA
Our hearts are burdened by the darkness increasing in California and over our nation while we, the Church, have been silent. With the establishing of Harvey Milk Day in California, public school children will be honoring a man who lived a life of pedophilia and homosexuality. The passing of Hate Crime Bill could further silence pastors from speaking the truth about the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman. We are praying for revival in California. We are contending for an open-heaven season over our home church and the churches in the Bay Area so that God would send an unprecedented outpouring of the Spirit. We are also praying that the churches in the Greater San Jose area would not keep silent, but raise their voices in united prayer, that God would push back the encroaching darkness and release a wave of His Spirit over the Bay Area.

Park Family Update
We are entering into a season of vibrant fall colors and falling leaves. As much as we miss the year-round sunny California weather, we also enjoy the seasonal changes here. Our home-schooled girls, Eileen and Christine, are doing well by the grace of God. Eileen is directing a play at the Children’s Equipping Center based on the parable of the ten virgins from Matthew 25. Her love for drama has followed her here all the way from California, and God is using it for His glory! Christine is memorizing Revelation 4-5 as a part of The Samuel Company, a group of young people ages 8-12 that are being raised up as young Samuels. She says that she studies Revelation because “we need to get ready for the End Times.”

IHOP 10-Year Anniversary!
The International House of Prayer of Kansas City just celebrated ten years of night and day prayer. As we believe that this has been mandated to us by God, we will continue this worship and prayer movement until the day our Lord returns. There are many scriptural references for “unceasing prayer” (Lev. 6:12, Is. 56:7, Amos 9:11, Acts 15:16,17, Luke 2:37-38, 18:7). We cannot do this as individuals, but the Lord has been faithful in raising up people who are devoting themselves full-time to minister before the Lord in the place of night and day prayer. This does not mean that every church needs to do 24/7 prayers, but every church is called to be a prayer house as we all eagerly await the return of Jesus Christ. Then, in doing this, God will give us His divine favor, wisdom, and direction. God has given IHOP the grace to begin new justice and outreach initiatives. We have had many effective outreaches, but we will be putting a new emphasis on works of justice by combining the 24/7 prayers for justice with 24/7 works of justice. These justice works include adopting and restoring children at risk, providing support to women in need, ministering to the inner city, providing disaster relief, ending human trafficking, ending abortion, etc. This will be a journey to walk out the true expression of Christianity in the spirit of Elijah (Jas. 1:27; Mal. 4:5-6).

IHOP Korean Community
IHOP Korean community has been revitalized with the formation of a new leadership council. We are developing 1st and 2nd generation ministries and also Korean forerunner messengers comprised of pastors, missionaries, and church leaders. These messengers will be teaching and speaking at IHOPU and affiliated ministries, national and international conferences, and leadership summits. This November, 150 Korean pastors are coming from Korea to learn the core IHOP values and what God has been speaking to us. There are plans to reach Koreans in the nations through GodTV and other Korean satellite venues. Our heart and burden is for the nations to come to have the living understanding and intimate knowledge of Christ. However, we have a particular burden for Koreans in Northern California. Our prayer is for all of us to embrace what the Holy Spirit is saying to the churches in these Last Days and cry out to God for His mercy, justice, and revival.

At Children's Equipping Center at IHOP, Pam Levenick is doing a teaching series on the ten virgins (Matthew 25) and how to become the wise ones who prepare oil and eagerly wait for the Bridegroom. To enhance their learning experience, Eileen is incorporating a creative teaching series through drama. This is the first one of the ten series. She starts the skit with how some of these virgins first meet Jesus and how Jesus sees each one of them. "Jesus is the Lover of my soul, and He desires me, and I'll love Him with everything!"

Hello All,

Convergence
It is critical that the church in America understands the times and what needs to be done now. The natural things speak of the invisible. Natural happenings on the earth are revealing something that is going on in the spiritual realm. There is a great spiritual conflict with a rising tide of Islamic boldness being manifested. Several happenings are converging this week. First of all, our President has recently proclaimed, honored, encouraged the Muslim holy days of prayer and fasting called Ramadan. He was very silent on the National Day of Prayer but very vocal on the support of Ramadan. Interestingly at the same time a major Christian leader of the Emergent Church called for forty days of fasting and prayer in the same Ramadan period with the goal that the church will better understand our Muslim friends. We are all for understanding but we must have spiritual discernment as to the spiritual dark powers that are being invoked into our nation.

Cause for Concern
At the same time, on the 25th of September, Muslims are calling for a Muslim Day of Prayer in Washington DC (http://www.islamoncapitolhill.com/). They are calling for 50,000 Muslims to gather and pray on the DC Mall. This is the exact word of one of the Sheikhs who is leading this historic gathering, “Muslims should march on the White House. We are going to the White House so that Islam will be victorious, Allah willing, and the White House will become into a Muslim house.” These are not empty words. They speak of a dark spiritual intent and a coming day of great trouble to America.

A Divine Moment
Now these events are enough to awaken us to this significant throbbing moment, but when they all converge it becomes a massive spiritual alarm that must be responded to by the praying Church. This convergence, I believe, is urgently summoning us in the midst of the rising tide of Islamic influence in America to recognize that our God is above every god and that if we return to Him with all of our hearts and call upon Him with fasting and prayer then God could use what the enemy meant for evil to bring about a great day of salvation for Muslims in America.

Here is the Vision
First of all, we cannot be passive as a Church to let these kinds of developments go on without being challenged in the spirit. Our fight is not against Muslims, it is against principalities, powers, and forces of darkness. We are calling the Church of America at the end of Ramadan, from September 21st through 25th, to five days of concerted prayer. On Friday, September 25th, the Muslim Day of Prayer, we are calling the Church of America to fast and pray that Muslims would be moved by the Holy Spirit, convicted by the testimony of Christ, and even be visited by Jesus in dreams. We must pray that God would restrain the spiritual powers behind Islam and grant us the great awakening that we desperately need for America.

Therefore we are calling Christians all over America to join Lou Engle, Mrs. Shirley Dobson, Tony Perkins, and many other major leaders in America to a national conference call to pray for America. A great revival is coming to the Church worldwide, and it will change the understanding and expression of Christianity in one generation. The Lord is raising up a generation of young adults with a foundation of intimacy with Jesus and love for others—a foundation that produces dedication to works of justice, missions, and outreach as they embrace God’s plans for the end times. These forerunners will declare the coming of the Lord in the power of the Holy Spirit.

This December, many young adults will gather at IHOP–KC's onething conference to worship, pray, and hear messages that will equip them to answer the call of abandonment to Jesus. Come December 28–31 and join thousands of others with like heart and like mind to pursue the call to one thing.

A CALL TO REPENTANCE (Joel 1-2)

In 2000, California Supreme Court passed AB 537 that allows a person who identifies himself as a different gender than the “assigned sex at birth” to receive the approval and the protection of the State. Last year, Proposition 8 was passed (that defines marriage as between a man and a woman), but proponents of same-sex marriage are planning to overturn California Supreme Court’s latest decision to uphold the outcome of Prop 8 by coming up with a ballot of their own. The pornographic industries of America make more revenue than the top ten technological companies combined, and the majority of America’s porn comes from California. Since the passing of Roe v. Wade (1973), we have killed 50 million babies at the hands of abortion doctors. This is the generation that we are living in.

From the beginning, God appointed the Church to be the beacon of light and the standard of holiness. The influence of the Church touches every sphere of life; it defines the culture of that generation. It comes to this terrifying truth: The Church will be held accountable for the condition of that generation’s culture. What will we have to say before God for the immorality and perversion that abounds in the land? What will we have to say for the blood of 50 million babies spilled at our hands? We need to turn to God in repentance. We as a nation stand guilty and need to repent. If we don’t turn, God has only one choice: to bring judgment on America. The Lord still judges nations. He is not a tolerant God that tolerates sin, but a holy, jealous God and He still is today for He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.“However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all His commands and decrees…all these curses will come upon you and overtake you.” (Deuteronomy 28:15) “Alas for the day! For the day of the Lord is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty.” (Joel 1:15) September 11th came and went. Katrina followed suit. A global financial crisis still exists. Have we realized what hour we’re living in and perceived its urgency? What is coming to America on account of her sins that are piled up to the heavens? Our only hope is God’s mercy.

I know this is a hard pill to swallow, but know this: God delights in mercy! “Mercy triumphs over judgment.” (James 2:13) “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.” (Psalm 103:8) It doesn’t please God to bring judgment on a nation. He is more than willing to forgive and pour out His mercy, if we would turn back to Him in repentance. “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

“ ‘Even now,’ declares the Lord, ‘return to Me with all your heart with fasting, weeping, and mourning.’” (Joel 2:12). We must return back to God. We as the people of God, the Church, need to put aside business-as-usual and get on our knees to fast and pray. Repent for our own sins and for the sins of our nation, and cry out to God for mercy. Pray that God would hold back the judgment that we rightfully deserve, and rather, send a mighty revival, a great spiritual awakening, that would sweep across America. It starts in California. The mayor of San Francisco once said, “As California goes, so goes the rest of the nation.” Let us as humble ourselves in the sight of God and repent on behalf of the sins of our generation. Let us the Church of NorCal set a standard for the rest of the nation to follow and who knows? Perhaps God will turn and have mercy on America and leave behind a blessing.

Trip to California
We had a very blessed and God-appointed time in California during the past two weeks in August. Our entire family was invited to visit and minister in California. Although we were able to have some good family time, the rest of the two weeks were back-to-back ministry time. We preached, taught, and ministered at a couple of churches and also visited with pastors, small groups, and individuals. There were days when we ministered until one ‘o clock and three ‘o clock in the morning, praying for people. What struck me was that many people showed such a hunger to know God and to experience Him deeper. We had people respond back to us on how they were touched by God. Some were healed instantly from chronic pain and felt the tangible presence of God. One pastor had been nudged by the Lord to start a house of prayer, and while I was preaching at his church, he received a confirmation from the Lord that it was time to start. Also while we were in California, Eileen launched a youth/college prayer meeting with a friend of hers during the second week of our stay. Gathering everyday at 7AM after the 5:45AM adult prayer meeting, she and a few others would worship and pray for revival at our home church and their schools. What an amazing move of God this trip was! We knew that all this was the result of many people praying for us. We returned to Kansas City in victory in Christ.

IHOPU
International House of Prayer University (IHOPU) consists of Forerunner School of Ministry, Forerunner Music Academy, Forerunner Media Institute, Apostolic Missions School, The Call Institute, and various internships. All together, we have 1,000 students and will grow to 1,500 next year as we begin to issue I-20 visas to international students. IHOPU is a full theological university and a graduate school of world missions within the context of night and day prayer. Students at IHOPU not only receive excellent theological education but they are immersed into a consistent and powerful prayer life. God is currently opening doors for me to serve as a pastor-missionary in the IHOPU as a Korean/English teacher in theology. Although there is no salary for this position, I will have the reward and satisfaction of helping to raise up the next generation of leaders and messengers for the Kingdom of God. I am still praying and seeking God’s direction about this, so please pray that God’s perfect will be done.

Onething ’09 Conference
Our annual Onething ‘09 Conference is coming up on December 28-31 in Kansas City downtown Bartle Hall. We have weekends @ IHOP and few other smaller conferences between now and December, but the Onething Conference is our major conference with top speakers, seminars, healing and prophetic ministries, and an all-out IHOP worship experience. It’s a young adult gathering to pursue the call to one thing, JESUS. This is a conference that draws tens of thousands people worldwide (16,000 last year), so make plans now to visit us. Park Family is Coming to San Jose
God has graciously granted and paved the way for us to go to California this August. We will be in San Jose area primarily for prophetic preaching, healing ministry, and vision sharing from Aug. 7 to Aug. 22. We will be attending our home church, Emmanuel Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Aug. 9 and Orchard City Church on Sunday, Aug. 16. Two Korean Pastors
I met two unique Korean pastors this week, who were visiting IHOP. Normally, there are hundreds of Korean pastors and missionaries who visit IHOP monthly. However, these two were very special. One leads a United Methodist church in Texas. The other pastor leads a Presbyterian church in Southern California. We developed a very close friendship, and I came to find out that they had such a hunger for God and true humility before Him. After ministering for 15 and 25 years, both pastors feel that they are running the popular church programs but not seeing any life changes or fruit from their congregations although they both experienced rapid growth in numbers. These pastors confessed that they are beginning to understand that there is no small group program, no new bright ideas, and no latest seminars that are going to change the hearts of people and prepare them for the Second Coming of Jesus. They both realized that it is by knowing the heart of God and following the leadership of the Holy Spirit that a church can be transformed. This is the core reality of the prayer-centric ministry. How can we know the heart of God unless we stand in His council by praying earnestly and seeking His face? I was very encouraged to hear that these two pastors are very serious about changing their traditional church culture when they both return to their home church and implement a new “praying church” model. God’s heart is to see church leaders that are “shepherds after His own heart” (Jer. 3:15). I believe God is already calling thousands of Christian leaders worldwide to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to the Church and to watch and pray. Amen!

People Get Ready
JESUS IS COMING! I cannot emphasize this enough. I believe that we are living in the generation of the Lord’s return. We do not know the day or the hour, but we can know that it is near, right at the door! Israel becoming an independent nation in 1948 was a significant event that even the Reformation leaders never imagined would happen. Yet, it came to pass just as God promised (Amos 9:15, Rom. 11:26). Looking at the latest world missions data, we are only a few years away from having the Gospel of the Kingdom preached to every people group of the earth (Matt. 24:14). These signs of the times point to the immanent coming of our Lord Jesus. How must we prepare for this? Jesus gives us the simplest exhortation: “Watch and pray” (Lk. 21:36). We must be alert and agree with what the Holy Spirit is doing. “Come, Lord Jesus!” (Rev. 22:20)

Park Family Update
Shalom from Kansas City and Happy 4th of July!
This past month of June was a busy month for the Park family. The girls began their summer vacation and have been getting more involved at the IHOP Missions Base. Eileen preached a message on wholehearted devotion to Jesus at the Signs and Wonders Camps for children in Colorado and Kansas City. This was her first preaching experience to a large audience. Eileen was humbled and amazed to see the Lord use her message to move upon the hearts of the younger generation. Eileen shared her camp testimony onstage at the all-staff meeting and at all three IHOP Sunday services along with Mike Bickle. Christine is now an acting assistant manager on the healing team. Not only does Christine enjoy her tasks of assigning people into healing rooms, escorting them in for prayer, and “soaking” (silently praying over them before the healing sessions), she loves to see God heal the sick through her prayers.

PHD Ministries
Prophetic, healing, and deliverance ministries, which were the ministries of Jesus (Isaiah 61:1, Luke 4:18), are thriving here. In the prophetic, we avoid being “directional” or “negative” in the words that we give, but simply prophesy out of 1 Corinthians 13:9 and 14:3, which says “we know in part and prophesy in part.” We prophesy to strengthen, encourage, and comfort the body of Christ. On a weekly basis, we see a vast number of leaders (200-300) from around the world, who are strongly encouraged by these ministries. Many people receive a measure of healing, if not complete healing, in the healing rooms. We also have a specialized and loving deliverance ministry that honors the person seeking deliverance, and we are seeing people gaining so much freedom from bondage and oppression as a result. We typically spend 10-12 weeks with each person who needs and wants to receive this type of ministry. I am currently leading various PHD ministry teams for my service hours, and I am so grateful and excited each time to see multitudes of people receive encouragement, healing, and freedom.

World Missions Update
It is sobering and humbling to see what God is doing around the world through IHOP international leadership. Last month in Hong Kong, we gathered 3,000 leaders from 900 world missions organizations to fulfill the Great Commission with one heart. About one-half of those leaders were Chinese from Mainland China. Together, they committed 194,000 new missionaries to go to the unreached people groups. Out of 12,000 total people groups in the world, only 639 people groups remain to be reached with the Gospel. Major missions leaders believe that the Great Commission will be fulfilled within the next 2-3 years instead of 10-20 years as previously thought! Just within the past three years, 337 unreached people groups were engaged, beginning with a house of prayer in their areas. Throughout 4,000 geo-political zones, 456,000 new houses of prayer are committed to be raised up within next ten years. Matthew 21:13 says, “My house will be called a house of prayer.” The missions organizations have shifted the focus of the missions work to begin with a house of prayer. This is an extraordinary latest update as we face the Second Coming of Jesus at our doorsteps. Let’s eagerly await His coming and continue to watch and pray as He commanded us.

Park Family Update
Summer is boldly upon us and we are experiencing pouring rain as well as hot and humid summer days.
Summer is a busy season for us here at the International House of Prayer. IHOP offers many summer programs, including Weekends @ IHOP, the Israel Mandate Conference, and Fascinate ’09 teen conference. You can get more info via web (www.ihop.org/events). Please let us know if you are able to come this summer, and we will be glad to help you to get the most out of it. Also, we will be visiting San Jose in August and are looking forward to seeing many of you. Let us know if you are available or if you would like us to come to your group and share our vision from God’s heart.

Ready to Adopt?
We have finished all of our adoption requirements and are now legally ready to adopt children. The question is are we ready? Over 4,000 babies are being killed at the hands of abortion doctors every day. This aches the heart of God. We must stand in the gap and cry out for mercy for our own sins and the sins of our nation as well as for abortion to be brought to an end in America. How is this tied to adoption? I recall a quote by Reese Howells, an anointed intercessor of the early 1900s, that in order to have real authority in prayer, you need to be a part of the solution. As Christians, we cannot say “yes” to ending abortion and then turn around and say “no” to taking in all the unwanted children as a result of the ending of abortion. The End-Time revival will involve a massive adoption movement across the globe as the praying Church begins to realize that this is in the heart of God. Our hearts were so moved by this. After much prayer and consideration, we took on the challenge. I remember Heidi Baker’s testimony. Heidi was telling the Lord that she did not have enough strength or enough resources to take care of the 350 orphans in Mozambique (who all called her “mother”), which the Lord had commissioned her to raise up. Then Jesus softly spoke to her, “My cross is enough.” The cross is truly enough for us to do all things through Christ, who strengthens us. The Lord is not looking for the gifted or the people who are confident in their own strength. He is looking for the weak and the broken who, despite their weakness, will choose to say, “yes” to Him. This is the reason that Heidi and her husband, Rolland Baker are now caring for 7,500 orphans and are still walking strong in the Lord. At the same time, they are the happiest people you can meet. We want to partner with God’s heart and see with His eyes on the subject of adoption.

Eagerly Awaiting the Lord’s Return
It is my belief that we are living in the generation of the Second Coming of Jesus. When we are convinced that this is biblically true, we should live every day with a sober mind and eagerly await His coming. Years ago, I heard a retired pastor, after 35 years in ministry, saying how he wished he could have been a more spiritual pastor. It reminded me of the need to truly hear God, to be the person that He wants me to be, and to do the things that are important to His heart. When we live this way, we will not have any regrets on the day that Jesus returns to the earth. He is coming! Let’s prepare for His coming by loving Him now with all of our hearts, mind, soul, and strength and by watching and praying (Matt. 24).

The Year of the Bible

Current Year of the Bible bill controversy is just an indication of how much our country has fallen since Ronald Reagan declared 1983 as the Year of the Bible honoring its contribution to the establishment of our nation. It was actually the result of a joint congressional resolution in 1982 that declared the Bible as the Word of God and urged president Ronald Reagan to declare 1983 as the Year of the Bible. Lord, have mercy on our nation!

Park Family Update
Spring is in the air in Kansas City. The nature and scenery here just reflect the transcendent beauty of our God. These days, we are experiencing a powerful spirit of intercession. Eileen is stepping out in prayer leading. God has given her a unique anointing to pray. A number of her mentors and pastoral leaders said that they are “scared” of her in a good way, exclaiming, “Imagine where she will be in 10 years.” As a father, I am extremely thankful to see God move so powerfully in her heart. Christine is part of the prophetic dance team and dances weekly in the Global Prayer Room. As a member of the prophetic dance team, she has access to the backstage, which is usually for the worship team and leaders only. She is very excited, not only because of this special privilege but because she gets to worship God through what she loves to do—dance. She is still serving in the healing team and is now a part of E12 for children, which is a Bible study/discussion group of the End Times. What was once reserved for the scholars and theologians is now accessible even to the young generation. At the ‘Malachi 4:6’ prayer meetings, where parents and children pray together for two hours, we have been experiencing the presence of God in a greater measure and feeling the move of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. I have witnessed that this weekly prayer meeting does something massive in the spirit realm; families contend in intercession together, drawing closer to the heart of God and growing stronger as a family. This prayer session is currently filmed and is going out to Korea, Hong Kong, Middle East, and Europe. It is reaching out to the hurting world, with justice, revival, and the raising up of the global prayer movement. God is moving more powerfully than when I first arrived here at IHOP more than a year and a half ago. Everyday, we are personally impacting the nations through intercession as well as through training many church leaders and missionaries from all over the world for a lifetime of revived ministry of the Holy Spirit and renewed biblical mandate. God’s wisdom is truly unfathomable. Through laboring in prayer, God is allowing us to accomplish what used to take decades or even an entire lifetime of serving the mission fields to be accomplished in a matter of few months or years. This is truly the Last Days; God is opening up many doors that were closed for so many centuries. Persistent prayer is so vitally important in the Church today. Only when prayer is brought back with full force into the Church, will God move powerfully in our midst and allow us to do greater things. “But when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8)

Personal Journey
My wife and I are both humbled to have been born into a Christian family as 4th generation Christians. We are passing on the legacy to our 5th generation Christian children. Personally, God has allowed me to grow in the Presbyterian, Baptist, and Charismatic traditions and draw from each of their strengths. From theology proper to Bible exposition, from systematic education to fervent prayer life, from sound Bible teaching to moving in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, from systematic Bible studies to prophetic evangelism, God has been taking me through a course of preparation to walk in His ways to trust Him fully and not lose heart (Luke 18:1). The End-Time global church will need to be ready and respond to the unprecedented outpouring of the Holy Spirit that is coming in the Last Days (Joel 2:28). We need to pay a close attention to what the Spirit is saying by praying with an open heart and an open Bible.

1-Year Anniversary!
We are very excited to have come to this 1-year anniversary mark since we began sending out monthly missionary support letters. In the midst of a very exciting as well as challenging year, we are very thankful to God for His faithfulness in sustaining our family to step into this calling as intercessory missionaries. We thank each and every one of you for all your prayers and support. Because of you, we could be where we are and have done everything that God has commissioned us to do. All your personal letters and support are greatly appreciated. Please keep in mind, however, that we have only personally responded to your letters and notes and not support/missions offerings since we believe that this is between you and God. As we embark on the second year of our intercessory missionary journey, I would like to reiterate our calling, vision, and core values as missionaries.

Our Vision
We have ministered in the Bay Area for many years until the Lord had us switch our gears about a year ago and moved us to Kansas City. It has been quite a journey; we have gone through a process of dying to ourselves and our own goals as well as allowing the Lord to focus our attention on His purposes and intimacy with His Son, Jesus. We are answering a specific call from God that is somewhat unfamiliar to some of you. Most of us are familiar with missionaries that concentrate on “preaching” or “mercy deeds”; however, the Holy Spirit is raising up intercessory missionaries to prepare the way for the Second Coming of Christ. It is the mighty worship and intercession movement that the Lord is orchestrating in this day and hour that will usher in the King of kings to return to the earth to reign. We believe that this somewhat forgotten biblical mandate of missions must be restored in order to release the Great Harvest of souls in full strength. It is mission-based in a way that vital prayers are offered up to cover those currently serving on the field. Involvement in mission trips will open doors to the establishment of the Houses of Prayer in other nations, resulting in the sending out of long-term missionaries. Our desire is to minister to the Lord with the 24/7 House of Prayer on behalf of the nations. Jesus said in Luke 18:7, “…and will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night?” We are praying that God will raise up men and women, young and old throughout the earth, who are going to take charge in the Houses of Prayer. They will minister to the Lord for the release of His mercy and justice at greater levels. God has put a desire in our hearts to see revival come to the hearts of people all across the globe. The call of an intercessory missionary comes out of a lifestyle of intimacy with Jesus and of fasting and prayer. As an overflow of that lifestyle, we have been going to the Global Prayer Room on a daily basis and serving in the Prophetic, Healing, and Deliverance (PHD) ministries at the International House of Prayer. Like all missionaries, we raise all of our support through supporters like you as the Lord leads. Therefore, we ask that you prayerfully consider becoming our partner through prayer and/or financial support. Let us hear from you today if you have not yet done so.

Park Family Update
After serving for the past one year in the healing ministry, Christine received the title of ‘Healing Minister’ and her first official name badge. Christine was very excited! God is releasing a healing anointing on her to minister to people. Recently, Eileen called the youth of California, via the Internet, to seven days of consecration, fasting, and prayer. She and seven others joined together in seeking the Lord and contending for revival in California. We believe something mighty is coming to California because of the youth that God is raising up. It is a joy for us to see the young generation fast and pray. “He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to the fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse” (Mal. 4:6). We are continuing to pray as a family. Anna and I are personally praying for you regularly. Our main calling is to pray and to go deep into the heart of God so that we can understand His heart and be fully obedient to Him. Then, out of a life of prayer, we serve others. I am serving in the PHD (Prophetic, Healing, and Deliverance) departments. The PHD was the ministry of Jesus (Luke 4:18) when He was on the earth, and even now, He is still setting many captives free so that they can fully love God. As missionaries, we have chosen to live a simple lifestyle even before the worldwide economic downturn. We are learning that we really do not need much at all. We do not even have a microwave oven, which we thought was a necessity; we still survive! Let us set our minds on the things above. This life is only temporary. Everything in this life—money, fame, beauty, etc.—is passing away. Our eternal life is in the Kingdom of God with our Lord and Savior, and everything we do in this life to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength will matter in the end. Matthew reminds us, “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matt. 6:20-21). Let us choose today to invest our time, money, and hope in the Kingdom of God.

Pray for Israel
Last month, there were numerous demonstrations against the nation of Israel all across the world. The nations are beginning to rage against God’s covenant nation. As many people have feared and predicted, Iran enriched enough uranium to make nuclear bombs. The Hamas is still set on attacking Israel even after the ceasefire. Hezbollah and Syria are turning their hostile aim on Israel. The Bible tells us that in the last days, the nations will gather around Jerusalem and seek to destroy it. We, as the Church, need to stand with Israel more than ever before. Let us pray for the salvation of Israel so that the Jewish people would embrace Jesus as their Messiah and cry out, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord” (Matt. 23:39). The future of the Church closely depends upon it. The LORD is a covenant-keeping God and will hear our cry for Israel.

Our God is an ALL-CONSUMING FIRE

Today the word "love" is used so loosely that we say something as silly as "I LOVE chocolate, I LOVE In n' Out, I LOVE her outfit, etc." However, do we fully grasp the depth of love? Song of Solomon 8:6-7 says "Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm, for love is as strong as death, it's jealously unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away."

God is burning with passion for you. He is a "consuming fire, a jealous God." (Deuteronomy 4:24) He doesn't desire half of your love; He desires it ALL. We know the God of love, but do we know God, the all-consuming fire that burns with jealousy for your affections? He is a jealous, jealous God and He will not share your affections with any other lover.

I feel that God is inviting some of you to allow Him to consume your heart with His fire until HE is your only passion. What is keeping you from giving Him all of your love? Is it video games, internet, food, friends, fashion - beauty is a God-given desire, but are you so consumed with being beautiful that you find yourself sacrificing all your time and money to be what the world calls "beautiful"? There is freedom for you! God wants to deliver you from all those "other lovers". He is inviting you throw off everything that hinders you from loving Him and to give yourself wholly to Him. Jesus gave it all for the sake of love and now He is desiring your all. "God, my heart is Yours! I am wholly Yours. I won't have any other lovers before You. Burn up every other passion that stands in the way from loving You. Baptize my heart with Your fire. Jesus, set my heart ablaze with unquenchable love and be my only passion."

History of 24/7 Prayer

1000 B.C.- 24/7 prayer begins with King David and the nation of Israel in the “Tabernacle of David”

400 A.D.- Alexander Akimites establishes the order of the “sleepless ones” in Constantinople. They spread the gospel as well as, 24/7 prayer and worship, throughout the middle east.

522 A.D. – Under the leadership of Agaunum, 24/7 prayer and worship begins in present day Switzerland. It continues for 378 years and impacts monasteries all over France and Switzerland.

558 A.D. – Comgall establishes 24/7 prayer in Bangor, Ireland. It preserves European society and furthers the gospel during the Dark Ages. It continues for 266 years.

910 A.D. – Cluny establishes 24/7 prayer in France. It lasts for 300 years and brings massive reform to the church throughout Europe.

1727 A.D. – Zinzendorf starts a prayer meeting in Saxony, Germany that lasts for 100 years. It helps to ignite the modern missions movement.

1973 A.D. – 24/7 prayer and worship starts on Prayer mountain in Seoul, Korea. It is still continuing and they now have the largest church in the world.

1999 A.D. – 24/7 prayer and worship begins in Kansas City, MO. Many missionaries have been raised up and sent out of this work that God is doing.

Why Night & Day Prayer?

The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out.
(Leviticus 6:12)

First and foremost, our Creator and Savior is worthy of a house where prayer and worship is going up to Him night and day without ceasing. We desire to see singers, musicians and intercessors walk out their eternal destinies as priests who minister to the Lord 24/7. Jesus said that the harvest is plentiful; thus, His disciples should pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out His laborers. Traditionally, the Church, throughout history, has sent out missionaries to preach the Gospel without first encountering the heart of God through a lifestyle of prayer and fasting. When our hearts deeply experience the love of Christ in the place of worship and intercession, we are empowered to give ourselves to the work of the Kingdom with greater diligence and authority. Night and day worship and prayer change the spiritual atmosphere of the city; therefore, opening the heavens for anointed preaching, teaching, evangelism and unity in the Church. We believe that the Holy Spirit is orchestrating a global prayer strategy far surpassing any other prayer movement in history, resulting in an unprecedented harvest of souls in the earth. The International House of Prayer in Kansas City is only one expression of the prayer movement across the earth today. My Experience of God's Presence

Today I was in the Prayer Room in the morning, and I was praying for stuff. Then I felt a hand on my head. I looked left and right and I didn't see anyone. I looked up and down and there was no one. So I prayed, "Lord, protect me." Then God started talking to me: "You are my blessed one and I love you." God can talk to you too. And He loves you.

Park Family Update
In the midst of the snowy and cold weather (as low as 1°F), God continues to prove Himself faithful and has been moving on the hearts of our children. Eileen has been learning what it means to me be holy, set apart to the Lord. She says, “It means denying worldly passions and setting my eyes on Jesus. It’s living the fasted lifestyle of loving Jesus more than life and loving others.” Christine was asking for prayer the other day and when asked what she needed prayer for, she said, “I want to be more hungry for God.” As we partner in prayer, God is filling all of our hearts with faith and hope. Thank you so much for all of your persistent prayers and thoughtfulness. It means a lot to us. God bless!

Assault on Life!
We have reasons to celebrate as we inaugurate the first African-American president in the light of the Civil Rights Movement. However, it is a very a dark moment in America and the rest of the world. “How can there be peace, as long as the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel abound?” (2 Kings 9:22) Just like slavery was everyone’s issue in the 1800s, abortion is everyone’s issue. Abortion is simply murder and is a clear assault on the innocent lives of babies inside the mother’s womb. America can never have peace as long as the blood of over 4,000 babies is shed at the hands of abortion doctors every day in America. America has elected a president who is ordering to support abortions in other nations with taxpayer’s money and is also increasing funding for abortion clinics in America. He is also working on “Freedom of Choice Act,” which will lift any restrictions on abortion, including the partial-birth abortion. This is the greatest injustice of our day, and we, as a church, need to wake up and open our eyes. We need to repent, asking God for mercy and crying out for justice for the lives of babies. Let us also pray for President Barack Obama; that God’s love would abound in his heart so that President Obama may approve of the things that are excellent and also love justice and righteousness.

Pray for California – 40 Days
If you have not begun already, we urge you to choose any 40 days from now until October 31, 2009 and pray for California. We need to continue to pray against the darkness that is hovering over our state. There is going to be another ballot in 2010 intended to overthrow Proposition 8 – restoring the sanctity of marriage. The freedom of religion and the holiness of marriage are at stake. As a church, now is the time for us to take our place in authority through fasting and prayer. Prayer is the centerpiece of all church functions because intercession is agreeing with and crying out for the things that are on God’s heart. “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 5:10). Persistent prayer will produce faith and hope to navigate through these challenging times, with increased revelation and wisdom.

Happy New Year 2009 in the Lord!
The year 2008 has been an extraordinary year for the Park family. We could not have done everything that the Lord has commissioned us to do without your prayers and support; Thank you, all! We pray that the new year will give you fullness of joy and hope as you eagerly await the Second Coming of Jesus.

The Onething Conference ‘08 was incredible. We had over 16,000 attend the conference this year from all over the world. We felt so privileged to have been a part of it. Eileen attended the conference and left with a hunger to study the End Times and has been preparing her heart, through prayer and reading the Word, for God to use her as an End-Time messenger. Anna and Christine served in the healing team, and witnessed many people experience a special touch from God: restoration of hearts, forgiveness of sins, physical healing, and deliverance. The prophecy team also had God’s special anointing, and they ministered to many people, who responded by saying that the words were very encouraging as well as confirming. As I experienced my first onething conference, I asked the question, “What drew this vast number of people to come to this conference from all over the world?” I came to the conclusion that there is a huge spiritual hunger that is sweeping across the globe. I also strongly sensed that we are truly living in the generation of our Lord’s return. Through pastors’ breakout sessions and Asian breakout sessions, I realized that God has already begun the groundwork of the global End-Time revival. The Spirit of God is moving everywhere, and He is drawing major Christian leaders together from South America, Southeast Asia, Middle East, and the U.S. to the reality and the urgency of 24/7 prayer. We have begun the initiative to partner with eight strategic cities around the world that would interdependently house 5,000 full-time prayer missionaries. One of those cities has already received funding for the first one year of operation. God is answering our collective prayers and is opening doors of nations.

Prayer for California
We are continuing to contend for California particularly focusing on the Bay Area. Please pray for TheCall (http://www.thecall.com/) Sacramento that is scheduled for 10/31/2009 from 10AM to 10PM. It will be the culmination of eight consecutive 40‑day fasting by various church groups in California. The Lord willing, this will be a perpetual fasting each year. The Korean churches have been invited to kick off the first 40 days of fasting and prayer each year followed by the Latin churches and so on so that we can drive away the spiritual darkness that is hovering over California, regarding the issues of immorality and injustice. Let us keep praying until we experience the greatest End-Time revival in our home state and until Jesus comes back to drive away all darkness and establish His Kingdom!

Good Gifts for God's Children

I am amazed at God for being such a loving Father. He knows how to give good gifts to His children. I want to share four of those stories. First, living with a missionary budget, we usually limit our spending to the very basics. With Christmas approaching, we were not sure whether to get a Christmas tree or not. It has been our family tradition to buy a Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. However, we decided not to buy a Christmas tree for the first time this year. Kids accepted the reality of living as missionaries. Yet, when we came back home from the prayer room a few days ago, someone left a beautiful Douglas fir tree in our front porch. Kids were so excited. We brought it in and decorated the tree. Second, we have not been able to buy groceries for a couple of weeks, and a friend came by with a box full of vegetables, fruits, and basic groceries. Third, Eileen had mentioned a few days ago that she would not get to see The Nutcrackers this year. However, a friend came to me when I was in the prayer room and gave me tickets for me and my daughters to go see The Nutcrackers, actually “Christianized” Nutcrackers, which should be even better. Fourth, I just ran out of whole wheat flour today. Some of you may know that I like to bake things with it. This evening David, my husband, came home from the prayer room with a bucket of whole wheat flour saying that someone came up to him and gave him a bucket of whole wheat flour. I am so thankful. I did not ask or pray for any of these, but our Heavenly Father just wanted to give them to us as a gift. As I take each step in faith, God always proves Himself to be a good and faithful Father.

Global Bridegroom Fast

Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them … then they will fast. — Matthew 9:15

The Global Bridegroom Fast (GBF) is a monthly global solemn assembly of believers in to Jesus for three days. We are calling believers worldwide to join together in prayer and fasting for revival, motivated by experiencing love for Jesus. This is a time when we are called to listen to God directly, not just the words of man. This is not an event but an entirely new lifestyle in the grace of God; we will continue in this fast until Jesus returns.

Behold, darkness shall cover the earth and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you and His glory will be seen upon you. — Isaiah 60:2

At the International House of Prayer Missions Base in Kansas City, the staff gathers together the first Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of every month, as well as seven days in December, to form a "solemn assembly" of fasting and prayer in the pattern of Joel chapter 2. Worship continues around the clock with two hour corporate intercession meetings at 6AM 10AM 4PM 8PM 12AM and 4AM.
